Early pregnancy

Okay so I'm 16 and my boyfriend of over a year is 16. I have irregular periods and I have an app that is sorta accurate but normally I estimate. It says I ovulated on the 4th of December so I guessed 3-5. I have read a lot of sites that say the egg is viable(or able to be fertilized) for 12-48 hours. The last time we had had sex before then had been defiantly on the 23rd of November which was over a week before my ovulation date. So I suspect the egg was not viable from the 3-7thish of December. We had sex again on the 10th but he never ejaculated. We where only together that way for at least 5-7 minutes before I made him pull out. But I was supposed to get my period today and normally I'm a day or two early. I could just be freaking out for nothing of course but I have a close friend sneaking out to get my a pregnancy test tomorrow and dropping it off at my place. Does anyone know if they can help me? I need to know if I could be pregnant. I can't risk getting pregnant! We've normally had sex during my period or a day or two after and we've been okay since September. We have only had one scare after our first two times because I was just late. But we have a friend who says she skipped her period after her third time. Please, I need help, I can't turn out like my parents did when they had me at 18!

November 29-December 5th would be the window of opportunity for pregnancy if you ovulated on the 4th.

Sperm can live nearly a week. The egg about 24 hours or so. So unless you had sex on one of those days then its very unlikely that you are pregnant.

Download the application "My Days" it will calculate your period and the "danger days" in which you could become pregnant. As long as you don't have sex on the yellow days then you shouldn't have to worry.

It worked for me for 2 1/2 years. We are engaged and expecting now.

That application will help you a lot! On the days you do have sex use a condom. If he says it doesn't feel good then use a polyurethane condom. It's thinner but just as strong.

Hope it helps! :)

You can get pregnant on your period. It's less likely, but still possible. The belief that you can't is a myth. Use birth control if you really don't want to get pregnant...or get an STD you'll then have to deal with for the rest of your life. Good luck.

Sorry I haven't answered your yellow day question. I couldn't log in lately for some reason. I've never had problems before the yellow days. but i would play it safe and be careful a day or two before or after.

Thank you both, we know the risk and we aren't taking any more. We only do so from now on during my period. But even if that starts getting too scary, i'm going on the pill soon and i'll force him to get condoms.

Clysta is right. And, even protected sex, the possibility of getting pregnant is somethin you've always gotta keep in the back of your mind though it's much less likely to happen when you're being careful.

Unless you want a baby, you should NEVER have unprotected sex. It's an extremely foolish gamble. Pre-ejaculation is always present and will get you pregnant. A pregnancy test is accuate about 2 weeks after sex, and make sure you use it with first morning urine. Anything after that is likely to be too diluted to show accurately.

Bear in mind as well--ovulation calculators do not work for women that have irregular cycles. The reason a cycle is irregular, is because when you ovulate is irregular.

Oh and also, what if I have sex like a day or two before the yellow days?

Thank you so much! I feel much more comforted. I'm still probably going to take the pregnancy test just to be extra assured and safe. And congrats on your baby! :)

We are expecting because we decided we were ready. Those yellow days are potent!

It will help you avoid pregnancy. Even more so if coupled with a condom or the pill if you can get it. Good luck

Only way to be sure is to test, and wait for your period. If you are remember everything happens for a reason. You can handle whatever comes your way. (: hope you get the  results you want.
