Eating Your Placenta

Ok so I heard eating your placenta is a good way to get back all the nutrients that you lose due to your pregnancy. You can cook it or get it put into capsules and take it like vitamins. It also helps prevent depression after your baby. I dont think I could do it, but it sounds like a pretty good idea. What do you ladies think?

I still have my son's in my freezer and he is almost a year old. Lol had an amazing home birth after c-section. I don't think I will be ingesting this one since it is almost a year old but I am going to bury it and plant a tree over it :-)

I'm doing encapsulation, and they are wayyy better than any multivitamin could claim to be. The placenta has so much more in it, and some things that they can't replicate in a manufactured vitamin. I could never out right eat it, but I figure it's in a pill, doesn't even touch my tongue! :)

Warning:ewwwwww. I know w woman who works at L&D and said that once they had a lady say she was going to take it home. That was fine with the doctors. Then her friend showed up as soon as she had delivered the plecenta. Magic bullet in hand. She blended it up with black barries. All the nurses said it was stuck in her teeth when they would go to check on her... I can't ever look at my magic bullet the same way again.

I am having my placenta encapsulated, I know it sounds kinda gross, but like you said there are tons of benefits from it.  It helps with postpartum depression, lessons postpartum bleeding, increases energy and milk production. Basically when tout deliver your placenta you are going "cold turkey"of all the hormones you have had for the past 9 months.  And by consuming you're placenta you are able to wean yourself I'd those hormones.  You can also save the pills and use them for when you have your period Anna they help lesson menstrual cramps n Anna you can even save them for menopause and use them basically as hormone replacement.
