Electric nasal asperator

I was wondering if any of you moms have the electric nasal aspirator?

Kaelynn has had congestion since I brought her home. I can see the snot in her nose but I can't get it to suction out. I thought maybe the electric one would work better. I also have used nasal saline drops to loosen up the snot before suctioning. Doesn't really work either.

my friend very strongly recommends the Arianna baby vac- apparently commonly used in parts of europe? you can look it up and even see plenty of videos of it in action on you-tube.

I think I'm gonna get it.

I run our humidifier nightly and that doesn't work. I bought a really nice one that you can have cool mist or warm mist and adjustable mist also.

I can see the snot but it just won't come out. I have gotten it to come out a little bit to where I can grab it with a Kleenex it sticks to a kleenex but not the nasal aspirator.

I have it, I would reccomend it...it does work better. We ended up getting it because my son has teenie tiny nasal passages and for some reason extremely sticky boogers...they just wouldnt come out with the regular bulb syringe. and its not a pain in the butt at all...i like it...but thats just IMO.

Don't forget to block the other nostril when suctioning.

Problem is, my pediatrician told me not to even use the manual bulb because it tends to cause more snot in the long run for some medically official-sounding reason.  (Stimulates or tickles the eye into running more or some thing?)  She suggested humidifiers only.

BTW I put suction, then put in the saline drops and wait awhile--5-10 mins then suction again.

I've heard they were a pain in the rump...never used one myself. I stick with saline drops and the bulb syringe.
