Epilepsy and pregnancy - worried
Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone on here is epileptic? If so, how is/was your pregnancy? If you have gave birth before, was your baby okay? My doctor last week sent off an urgent letter for me to see a neurologist for my medication, but I haven't heard anything and it's getting me stressed and worried. I'm 4+6, early days I know but obv the first 12 weeks, all the major development is happening and I don't want my meds to harm my baby but I know I'm not allowed to stop taking them :(

Next time Isee my ddoctor, I'm going to have a word with her about it and see which she recommends. Don't have a Walmart in the UK so wouldn't know which they are lol. Just found out that y bf would have had 1 month predeployment in Germany and then straight to Afghan for 9 month :/ butttt he had an interview with his troop commander this morning to try cancel it and it's been cancelled :D over the moon!
I started taking Walmart brand until we found out that my husbands insurane provides them for me. They send me Walgreens brand. I know they say to make sure and take ones with DHA but all the ones I've seen have that. I would suggest getting some and start taking them right away.
What Prenatals are needed to be taken? Yeah I started taking mine straight away, I only found out a week ago today and it's all I can think about lol. Will do :)
At my 1st appointment with the doc he told me to start taking the Folic acid right away. We were already a month and a half along at our 1st appointment. You need to start prenatals right away. Hopefully your bf will be able to be there. Thank him for his service and thank you too.
Wow, that sounds really good. I'm only on 5mg of folic acid, do you reckon that's because of early stages? I'm not on any Prenatal vitamins either. Midwife hasn't been in contact yet and Ijust want to get the ball rolling now so it can put my mind at rest. Also stressing now coz just found out my boyfriend might be getting sent to Germany in April (Army) but he Gunna try cancel it tomorrow. If he can't then he's going to miss the pregnancy and birth, I really hope he can cancel it coz this is our first and tbh, I'm scared :/ lol
I am pregnant with my second child. I'm 37 +2 and I have epilepsy. My 1st pregnancy was 11 yrs ago. I was actually on Depakote and high risk but I have a very health normal very active 10 yr old boy! I'm taking Keppra now and they still consider me high risk but the risk is much lower with Keppra then it was with Depakote. They have done several ultrasounds and baby is great!! They have me taking 1000mg of Folic acid in top of my prenatal vitamins. It suppose to help with the effects of the Keppra. So far so good. Ready to be done lol!!
