Episiotomy cut

Hi my wife has had an episiotomy cut since last 4 weeks. she had an infection because the stiches opened up within 2 days of episiotomy. the infection is now cleared. However the doctors are not re-stiching the cut. The cut is of around 2nd degree and extremly painful still! she takes painkillers and takes bath 2 times a day with tea tree oil.

can you tell me if at this stage the doctors should start re-stiching the cut which is still open? or what other treatment should they be giving her?

thank you in advance for your replies..

Well first off let me say that I am totally against epsiotomy's because you have a greater risk for infection than you if you tear.... If your wife has a cut then I would use iodine, or something before shower's, or baths and also go to the GYN  and see what they say. They might tell her  to just let it heal on it's own........ Not sure what kind of advice to give because I told my DR to let me tear..... Tearing is actually better than being cut..... That's why I tore with all 3 of mine......

she could try to keep the area moist use iodine before taken a shower that helps to lessen the chance of infection i think the doctor didnt do a good job stitchin her  when i had my son and they gave an episiotomy it hurt for like 3 days or so then i was fine sorry to say but i dont think they will restitich her so am guessin she has to heal on her own  tell her monitor it if it still hurt go to the doctor or ER u should try goin to another doctor hope this helps
