FOOD

I HAVE A QUESTION. BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT I WAS ADDICTED TO THE HOT PICKLES THAT COME IN THE BAG OR POUCH. I WOULD EAT AT LEAST 3 A WEEK. CAN THE HOT PICKLE OR THE VINEGAR BE HARMFUL TO THE BABY?

Hot foods don't do anything--- millions of women eat hot and/or spicy things while pregnant. I myself ate chili (when I could eat) while pregnant and added chili peppers. Gave me awful heartburn but it was soooo yummy. Vinegar also doesn't do harm to baby. Some foods pose a problem, but these are generally meats, cheeses, etc etc. Things that can contain bacteria and such and/or cause poisoning.

MY HUSBAND THINKS THAT THE VINEGAR IS BAD FOR THE BABY, AND THE FACT THAT THE PICKLE IS HOT AS WELL. BUT I'M HISPANIC, SO ALL WE EAT ARE HOT SPICY THINGS. LIKE PICKLES AND JALAPENOS. SO I WAS CONFUSED.

Neither would do anything to the baby. Might make you sick, but it won't hurt the baby. Did someone tell you otherwise?
