Wow, I've been using the Swaddlers Dry Max since they came out on the market, and I got a couple of boxes on a special deal at BabiesRUs. I have no complaints at all, and in fact, I've been happier with the absorbing capacity because I'm going through 1-2 less diapers a day.
The one and only complaint I have, and that I had about Pampers Swaddlers even before the Dry Max was released, is that baby poo comes out the back of the diaper sometimes. That's what I've always liked about Huggies--the fact that they have that pocket on the back of the diaper along the back, so poo doesn't come up and leak out the back. But with the Huggies diapers, I swear they leaked every time he peed, so yeah they were great for holding in the poo, but leaked pee like crazy. The Swaddlers have leaked pee maybe two or three times in 3½ months--poo, on the other hand, that's a different story. We get a poo leak at least once every other day. :-P
I just bought more diapers this week, but went with the Luvs brand because they are cheaper. If they have leak problems like the Huggies or cause any other problems, I'll go back the the Swaddlers Dry Max in a heartbeat. But if no issues with Luvs, I'll stick with them. Diapers are expensive.

Just to let everyone know that I used the pampers with my son for 2 days when my store ran out of huggies in his size. After a few hours a rash started developing and i treated it with nappy rash cream, changed him a bit more often and thought nothing of it. It was getting wrser over the next 24 hours, very angry and red so i decided to use take him to the dr the next morning if there was no improvement. Next day, i went to get him up and changed, and I was horrified to find that his botty was oozing and had small chunks missing deep enough to reveal the yellow fat underneath, it was also bleeding and very angry. Taking him to the dr resulted in loads of antibacterial creams and antibiotics and needing to go bare bum for almost a week, but it's healed up now with scars left over all on his backside. I only use huggies nappies, everytime i try pampers a rash starts to develop. Stick with what you know ladies!

We havent had any problems with the new pampers so far but my babies have VERY sensitive skin so I need to change them about every 20 minutes or they can get a rash (thats with any diaper) I am on the other hand going to switch to Huggies now because I LOVE the new jean print diapers they have out now...SOOOOO CUTE!!!!!

hey no arguments here. I thought I read somewhere that they didnt change anything except make them thinner by taking out some of the filling (gel stuff) that absorbs. IDK. But maybe they did add something that does cause these horrible rashes in 1% of babies or whatever % it is. It doesnt seem like many people have had problems. Like I said IDK. So far im just happy not to have any problems because I would hate to change brands, im not a big fan of huggies.

figures lol i just bought a big ol box of pampers swaddlers!  I was using the organic huggies when i first brought my now 2 week old son home from the hospital but when i ran out i bought a box of swaddlers at the store...not because i didnt like the organic huggies (because i did) but because i used a couple swaddlers while at the hospital and i loved how soft they were and how good they smelled lol! But upon opening my swaddlers im thinking the hospital still had a supply of the "old" pampers and i had obviously bought the "new" ones. The new ones are on the other hand just as soft and smell just as good ...the fit just seems to be a little different. I've been using them since yesterday morning and so far i have no complaints...we havent leaked any and i dont notice any irritation whether it be a rash or a chemical burn...although im not so sure how long it would take one to crop up. I do notice that im havting to change his diaper more often BUT he's also been eating more now at the 2 week stage than he was when i first brought him home...so this could just be a natural thing. I'm praying after reading this that he doesnt get a chemical burn but i'll letchya all know if he does :-s

I've decided to continue with the organic huggies after this pack of swaddlers is up but not because of him getting a rash or fear of him getting one but because im havting to fuss with putting it on straight and making sure all the folds are right...i dont feel like i can put on a "swaddler" as quick as i can put on "huggies" for whatever the reason might be...they just dont fit my son as well. but i really think its just a personal preference and not a problem with the actual diaper itself. who knows? im just a 2 week old mom :)

Wow i did not even know they were changing their diapers. My oldest son, who is 6, could use any and every diaper there was. Then my youngest, who is 3, could only use pampers or the walmart brand in the yellow package. Well then walmart discontinued the yellow package ones, so pampers it was. Even during potty training only pamper pull ups or walmart ones. In the process i grew to love pampers more then anyother brand, so to hear this puts me in shock. Even to this day i have to use free and clear laundry soap and bath soap. Im not sure what causes his rashes but its alot easier to just not use the stuff.

While i understand your POV i do not entirely agree.  Babys CAN and DO get severe diaper rashes from certain chemicals or other ingredients in diapers.  My oldest couldn't wear Luvs, somethign in them caused major irritated, oozing, red rashes.  It NEVER happened with any other type of diaper, even the cheap brands.  I DO believe that the baby most likely has a certain sensitivity to certain ingredients that other babies may not which would explain why not all babies have it. But I don't think it's as simple as you put it.

Honestly I do NOT know anything about the new reformulated Pampers. I also did not want to start any arguments or debates or anything I just thought it was something some of the ladies might like to read and consider.  I used swaddlers when my youngest was a newborn but switched later becuase Luv's are cheaper and work just as well.  I also used the swaddlers and cruisers with my middle two and absolutely loved them.   I haven't tried them since they changed them, which apparently was in March?? I don't know.

Holy cow! I used the swaddlers with both of my little boys when they were first born and I absolutely loved them! This is sad and I can't believe that the company would be so thoughtless to try to blame it on the mothers! I do believe that moms can be blamed or even sensitive baby bottoms on diaper rash but if there is another fix like changing the diapers back to the original manufacturing then that would definitely be the easiest thing to do! This is why I plan on using gdiapers!

Please dont bite my head off for this but honestly diaper rashes happen. I just dont get how they are all of a sudden cause by the diaper. I mean babies that use huggies and luvs and all kinds of other diapers get diaper rashes, its cause from bactiria build up. Infruequent diaper changes and such. If anything the diapers arent holding up to the claim as far as keeping babies as dry. You have to change baby's diaper more often, hense them getting a diaper rash. Should we sue McDonald because we are getting fat eating their food??? No, dont eat the food. When baby gets wet we need to change them. With the new pampers it just needs to be changed more often (so it seems). So just change the baby's diapers more often or use a diffrent brand. Simple fix. I honestly hope they go back to the old pampers. I loved them:~)

I used to use pampers with my middle two  and used the swaddlers some with my youngest but haven't since they changed the product. After reading this I'm thinking I will be sticking with huggies and luv's.

I used to love the pampers.  The cruisers were GREAT for when my kids became mobile and the swaddlers were so soft but now I'm just not sure.  I may try one pack but will defiantely be watching for irritation.

I havent had any problems with the new pampers beides as the above poster mentioned maybe they arent as absorbant. I was one of the few that got to try them before they hit the stores. P&G sent me out samples of them ahead of time.

I didn't experience the chemical burn with the new diapers, but  they leak worse than wal-mart cheapies!!! I took a look at the diaper and noticed why, they old diapers had an inner liner that went nearly to the top of the diaper in the back, the new ones only cover about 60% of the diaper from front to back so when the child is laying down on her back the diaper allows leaking like crazy!!! I wrote to pampers about this and they promised me 2 free packs but I have yet to receive them and that was about a month ago.  I'm totally gonna join the bring back the old pampers on FB

That's interesting and good to know. I had heard a lot of complaints about them, but didn't know it was like this.
