Fetal Doppler

Good Morning Ladies! My fetal doppler is driving me crazy and giving me more stress. I rented one from Heat tones.com for reassurance becuase I had a m/c before this pregnancy. I am over 11 weeks pregnant and can't hear the heartbeat even though my doctor can hear it on her doppler. It's very frustrating becuase I can not find it anywhere and have been trying for two weeks. Before I return it maybe one of you ladies can give me some tips. Has anyone had luck using a rented doppler at 11w preggo and where did you find it.

GRose - Thanks! That is a good idea. I will bring it to the doctor on April 20th. Thankfully I have an u/s next wed.

That's a great idea GRose, that's what I would do. See if your OB can help you out. I found it pretty early, but had some prior experience and also this time around baby is bigger than I thought, so that could have made it easier. But I was also listening one time and heard mine and the baby's at the same time and if I wasn't listening closely, I would have never known! I think once your OB helps you, it may be a little easier for you. Give it time! =)

You should bring your doppler in with you at your next appointment and ask for help.

You OB can find it no problem cause she does it all day everyday, she knows exactly where the baby is.

Thanks for everyone's tips and advice. I think it's just weird b/c my doctor found the heartbeat in literally 5 seconds using her doppler. I will wait a couple of days and try it again. Thanks again!!

I rented mine at 10 weeks and could use it around 10w 5d. It took 30 minutes the first time. Start right at your pubic bone in the middle and very slowly move to the right and then back across to the left. Each time you move over a bit you have to stop and give it a second. Then move up an inch and do the same thing over again. You might not be able to hear it until next week. At 11 weeks it's not easy to find and it's very faint.

If by next week you still can't hear it you might want to send your doppler back and ask for another one. Those things can be great for putting your mind at ease, but I know for me until I hear that hb I'm holding my breath. Good luck!

i found mine at 11 weeks but it was verry verry low down try using it at diffrent angles! it might be faint as the baby is still only tiny! you need to know what you are hearing it will sound like a whooshing shound or a gallop! your almost at 12 weeks so thats a good sign! baby may just of just moved it has alot of space! i once found it hard to find lillys at 20 weeks but she was just laying funny and i new she was ok coz she was moving lots but she was never still while i was pregnant so it was often hard to find it and the count it was she moved loads baby may just be wriggling lots! iv also had 3 m/c and brought mine for the same reason! im sure your be fine after just one m/c your chance is fab of having a bright and beautiful baby after 9 months! iv got a 8 week old girl after 3 m/c's so im sure your be ok. if your worried get ur dr to find it agen, your be having ur 12 week scan soon! fingers crossed x

This is my second pregnancy and I have never been able to find my baby's heartbeat with my doppler. I tried all 9 months with my first and I try all the time with this baby as well, I have had no luck, all I hear is gurgling noises.
I am not saying you wont find it but it is possible. You are only 11 weeks, some people don't hear their baby's heartbeat until 12w at the doctor, I would give it some more time.

Check near your hips! I know it doesn't seem like he/she would be over there but that's where I always found mine, and reallllly far down, be patient though because you have the put the doppler right over the baby to hear it, so just go really slow all over the place, but I always found mine near my hips :]
