Fetal Dopplers

Question

I was wondering where everyone is getting theirs, if you are getting one. And what was your success rate, how far along were you, when you were able to hear the heartbeat? I called my OB's office and they told me that 12 weeks (which I'll be tomorrow) may be too early to hear it and that it sometimes stresses women out when they can't find it. But, my problem is I'm in that stage where I don't feel pregnant and after 2 losses, that scares me. So, I thought this would be a way to reassure myself everything was going okay. I've read so many posts on other forums where ladies have gone to the doctor and been told their babies died weeks ago and they didn't know it and that's my fear when I go back to the doctor December 3. I'm a worrier, but I have good reasons to be. Thanks for anyone who can share their experiences.

Mine is by Stork Radio, it is a 3MHz, I have heard mine now for 2 weeks,and I am now 14 weeks~ so I would look for somthing with that MHz, I can find mine with ease! "IT" is a squirmer so sometimes I have to chase, but it is still there and very strong! I hope you find one soon, I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine!

ive got a doppler and it works gr8! over here u can use them from 12weeks onwards. but u cant here it very well! well i cant but its there!

My OB didn't try until I was 12 weeks along. I bought a bebe fetal dopler for at home and never once heard DS's heartbeat. I had numerous people try and NO ONE could find the heartbeat.

Ultimately, when you have them in your hands at the store, it'll be easier to compare each one to the other!  You can always ask the people who work at the stores, they are suppose to know all the info on the product as well!  Good luck and I hope you find a good one!!!

Sometimes they can't find the heartbeat because the baby is laying in a weird position or moving like crazy!  

I had bought one and it was $24. 99 at babies r us.  I can't remember the name now, since it's been rubbed off by my daughter.  But it worked on the first try with my son at 11 weeks.  I'll look online and see if I can find the name and i'll post the link to it!!

I rented mine from baby beats .com, it was about $50 a month but it was really strong, I picked up a h/b at 10 weeks, and it is actually the same one that my doctor uses in his office....

I have had mine since i was 12 or 13 weeks.  An its works great.  An I got mine off www.craigslist.com.  I posted a free ad under the baby category an some one called me within a few days.  I only paid 45 for it an it was only used a few times.

it varies with everyone i'm sure i was 13 wks 2 days on monday and b4 my surgery they spent an hour with 2 diff dopplers and could not find hb did an ultrasound and it was there a few hours later b4i was sent home they checked for hb again this time found it but it wasn't easy. it was very very low still and hard to find.

I'm actually renting mines from babybeat.  It is wonderful.  I found the heartbeat at 10weeks and now at 13weeks is easier to find.  I just place it on my lower abdomen and there it is.  I can even hear when the baby moves because it makes a different loud sound. I love it!!! :-)

I dont have one at home but i will tell you that at the hospital ( i was in a car accident) at 12 weeks 3 days they could not find the heratbeat with a doppler. we had an ultrasound the next day and saw the hreat beating. then yesterday at 13 weeks 2 days they found it with a doppler. they told me the same thing, dont be upset if we cant find it.i was a bit sad but it ended up being fine!!

I got the Hi Bebe fetal doppler off Ebay at 10 weeks and was able to hear the heartbeat on my first try. Its a great doppler and it has a screen that tells you how many bpm. It was one of the only things that kept me sane my whole pregnancy.
