I'm having a csection, but I'm gonna have pictures taken during it. (not of the open wound, but just after they pull him out and hold him up.) and I'm gonna see if a nurse can take them rather than DH cause I think a) he'll pass out, and B) he'll get so into it he'll forget to take the pics!
I, too, hate having my picture taken....but take it from an experienced mom...you are going to WANT to be able to look back at pictures of YOU WITH your baby...not just baby shots. You child is also going to want to see how beautiful and happy mom was the first time you held him/her. I have very few photos of me WITH my oldest as an infant and I really regret it...
We have in our hospital a no filming policy due to privacy. So we just have pics from the delivery before, during, and after. Make sure if you want to tape it that you find out what the hospital and drs policies are. Hugs and good luck with the delivery
You can do both! Have one person do the video camera and another in charge of photographs. Hospitals have rules, though, of what you cannot take pictures of (full frontal shots of baby coming out is a no-no, you have to take pics from the side) and no pics of any procedures done on you or baby.
I am also due in January, and we are having a photographer. It sounds wierd at first, but there is a local photographer that specializes in going to the hospital and taking photos of the birth and the hour after the birth. She takes beutiful pictures of beautiful and memorable moments- no crotch shots. We're excited about it.
I am due with my first in January. I will not be taping, I actually told my family NO photos!! I am sure I will change my mind w/ that. I just wanted to give my input! =)
I hate having MY photo taken, but I am sure I will let them take pictures of the baby!
I am about to embark on my 5th delivery...my first two no pictures were involved until well afterwards (due to circumstances) my last two we did still photography and some video taping before and after. This time I do plan to video the whole experience as much as possible. Even if things are caught on tape that I'd rather not be there, it can be edited out later. I wihs I had filmed all of mine.
My oldest is 17.5 ... with 3 others inbetween.........
My husband filmed my oldest and if done with discretion will continue to awe and amaze you for many yrs to come.
However, you need to ck with the hospital bcz even back then there were many hospitals that don't allow videos but will allow cameras.
With my other births he did still-photos ..............not as nerve-wracking for him to do.
(Hope you didn't mind me jumping in on the thread; I'm a bit older than 34 ... I was looking at one of the posts about losing weight and wanted to respond to your post. I'm usually over on thyroid community.)
