For all Women TTC

A new Study at the University of Buffalo NY proves that a low dose of Aspirin increases the chance of getting Pregnant.

They took Women volunteers who were trying to get Pregnant and studied The Effects of Aspirin in Gestation and Reproduction. It was a multi-centered randomized clinical trial of folic acid alone vs. folic acid plus low dose aspirin on incident pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes in women who have had one or two pregnancy losses.

The study proves that a low-dose aspirin (LDA) may impact several areas of reproduction and could potentially improve pregnancy outcomes while having few side effects.

Aspirin has been shown to have several beneficial effects in humans including its effect on blood platelet aggregation (blood clot formation) and decreasing inflammation. Because of aspirin’s ability to decrease the formation of clots, blood may flow better. As such, aspirin may be helpful in many pregnancy outcomes through its effect on blood flow and reducing clots. Better blood flow at the time of conception and implantation may lead to improved pregnancy outcomes. A medication that improves blood flow to reproductive organs (uterus and ovaries) and throughout the body and may have a role in improving pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes. We want to test whether these known effects of low-dose aspirin may aid women in becoming pregnant and delivering a full-term baby.

I guess you take it when trying to get Pregnant and during Pregnancy.

My friend works for a Child & Family Services Center-she's going to keep me updated on the study and the numbers. Pretty neat huh!?

they say that it takes about a year!  May will be a year for us.  I'm just confused because I don't know what to buy and all that.  I have folic acid pills but I can't take them because I break out with ulcers badly!  Anyway...good luck to you and your DH I can't wait until we tell each other we're expecting!!! I'll be as happy for you as myself!

I hear it's the stuff to use! Ohh definitely take Prenatals...we started TTC in July 07 and I didn't go on them until October. I M/C in November and told my doctor we weren't going to TTC until July 08 and she said to stay on them. It does increase the chance of having a healthy baby and it gives them the nutrients and vitamins they need! Good Luck!

hum...guess it's a good thing that I live out in the sticks and can go get anything anytime I want...Maybe I'll go get some now?!?!  Is anyone on prenatal vitamins.  I go see my diff doc on March 5th.  Maybe he'll tell me what is going on with my body.  They suggested that I got on them now and that way it increases the chances of a healthy baby!
