Funny/strange nesting instinct moments

Question

I just found myself contemplating removing my sink hardware so I could clean underneath it, and that's after I spent my evening scrubbing my tile grout, and my cabinets...I'm normally a bit of a neat freak, but lately I've gone overboard even for me, so I'm thinking this might be the beginning of that nesting instinct people talk about.

Was wondering what's your weirdest or funniest nesting instinct moment? Just trying to make myself feel a little more sane. :)

Lol..;-) I've never heard of the dad getting the nesting instinct!! That's actually adorable! ;-)  I wish my hubby would willingly steam clean our carpet!!

I know i'm not at that point yet but I think my husband is... he keeps asking if we can get a steam cleaner and clean all the carpets in the house. I still have about 10 wks left and every time I ask what he is doing he is cleaning something in the house. it's kinda funny to me.

I'm usually at home during the summers, so I'm used to finding little things to do, and my project list to prep for the baby is already keeping me busy. I'm also single, so it means I'm doing a lot of things by myself trying to get ready so generally things take me longer. Her room is almost complete, but I have a baby book and a baby blanket planned in addition to this little cleaning fest I'm having over here. Plus I have to stockpile paper goods and food so when she gets here I'm not too overwhelmed, and there's last minute baby supplies I'll need so there will be some shopping trips...I'm a planner by nature so I'm trying to put it to good use. :)

I haven't got that. But then again we are in the process of buying a house and I already have a list for the house, but i find it normal because it's things I would do no matter what. Idk I guess thinking of being at home for six weeks is driving me insane so im sure that during that time I'll be doing all the extras lol oh and this is my first

I've decided I might need a deep freezer...mine is too little. I'm due in June but I teach so the semester ends about a month before I'm due; plenty of time for last-minute furniture rearranging and cooking sessions. :)

My hubby actually said when we knew for sure I was preggers, " how many more months until you get crazy cleaning?" I make him pull out all the furniture so I can clean behind!! It drives him nuts!! Oh well..my theory is we get this nesting instinct bc we won't have time for deep cleaning for a looong time!!! I've been making lists too!!! Plus I go crazy freezing meals, starting abt 3-4 wks b4 I'm due!! Already planning those meals, just started that list Friday!! Ha* I'm not due until July!!! Lol.;-)

I'm always cleaning as it is but when i was preggers it was like 10x's worse! One night I stayed up cleaning every wall in the house. I moped the kitchen, all 3 bathrooms and the living room. The entire house smelled like pinesol. My husband was so mad at me when he woke up and it was 2am and there I am with the rubber gloves naked scrubbing the shower. Take advantage of the energy because once the baby comes you wont have time!

last time I was pregnant I just looked around at the house and wanted to bulldoze the whole place, 9 children and no matter how much I cleaned it was never clean or tidy so I think I just turned off that part of my brain and it hasnt come back on line lol :)

I haven't but with my last pregnancy, I remember cooking up a storm for the few days preceding our daughter's birth. It wasn't even practical stuff like casseroles that could be frozen... Oh well, I figure I'll know something's starting to happen when I decide to make 8 times more food than we need for dinner!

Well for my 2nd pregnancy at about 25 wks i painted my entire house ( the inside) bcus i would scrub and bleach my walls and i felt like they wouldn't get clean enough lol. Than id wake up every morning at like 6am and vacuum and clean my kitchen  and go back to sleep. Now with my 3rd im 28 wks and ive been switching everyones rroms ( moved my daughters to my sons and sons upstairs ) and sweep n mop 20x a day. Its very obssesive and addicting. Im also clearing out everyone's stuff to have a garage sale. Im finding we just have so much unnecessary stuff.

im 20 weeks this round and i have already gotten clothes ready for babies arival and sorted thru my daughters old clothes incase we have a girl... i have gutted and reorganized my kids room as they will be sharing a room, i have a list of what i want to clean started lol like the tuperware cupboard is driving me insane! and my pantry is out of control too lol ....and my freezer lol hmmmm there is a lot already on my list... im only half way there! but i havent gone crazy cleaning yet.. im pretty far from that...i hope! lol

Lol I've been thinking about scrubbing my floors by hand too, already told my ex-boyfriend he needs to move my couches so I can get beneath them...I'll have to remember to write some of this down, this will be priceless one day. :)

lol that sound absolutely on the mark for nesting!! I honestly can not remember what exactly i cleaned i jsut remember thinking that it had to be nesting as it was the stupidest places to clean... very obsessive anyway lol i did scrub the floors all by hand, and made sure to get in all the corners, the cupboards... but i know it was worse than that? it bugs me that i cant remember? my BF has no clue what im talking about either lol shows how observive he is!
