I agree with kjbutcher.  I think people are thinking about weight gain way too much.  As long as you are eating well (not skipping meals), drinking alot of fluids and the baby is healthy that's all that matters.  With my first pregnancy I gained 43 pounds.  I am almost 33 weeks with number 2 and have only gained 10 lbs.  Doc not concerned.  Baby is growing fine.  Went for another u/s on Friday and baby is already well over 4 pounds.  Gonna be another big baby!

I think way too much is put to weight gain.  The "normal" amount is different for everyone!!  my first pregnancy I gained 56 lbs total.  I am 19 weeks now and only gained 6lbs so far and that is just fine.  Try not to put too much to weight as long as baby is growing fine.

I really wouldn't worry about your weight too much...When i was pregnant i only gained 16 lbs total and most of the was in the last trimester.  For the first 20 weeks i only gained 3 or 4lbs.  I would say as long as you are eating well and your doctor isn't concerned you should be just fine!!

My doctor told me that they like to see a 1/2lb/week weight gain during first trimester, then 1lb/week until delivery.  I think for a lot of women, first trimester weight gain isn't a lot because of morning sickness.  I would think as long as your doctor says its ok, I wouldn't worry.
