I had mine taken out about 3 months after I gave birth. I ignored it for about a month or so because with a new baby I didn't have time to be sick. Until I had meatloaf and was in so much pain I ended up puking and could barely move. Turned out my gallbladder was full of stones and one was the size of a quarter I think he said. It wouldn't hurt to go get it checked out if your in pain. Let us know
I've heard that too. I was so upset because I spent 3 days in the hospital waiting to see a surgeon and then was told it was fine, no stones. Luckily my ob ordered another scan 3wks later to specifically look for sludge and function and sure enough the thing was absolutely full of 'mud'. The surgeon took one look and said yep that has to come out now, can't wait. He said if I'd waited it probably would have gotten infected and I was at risk of preterm labour, like really preterm seeing as I was only 21wks then. You really have to push these things some times and eventually you will find someone that listens. Don't just put up with it or think it must be in your head just because they wont listen. Make the system listen if you feel the pains not right.
They did an ultrasound when i was 4 weeks on my gallbladder and saw nothing and all blood work came back normal they didnt know why i was having pain. They sent me home with pain meds. They pain has gone away & barley returned last night. Ive had alot of people tell me their ultrasound and blood work was normal but demanded surgery and found out their gallbladder was full of stones or super infected..
They can do an ultrasound and some blood work to either confirm or disprove that it's your gallbladder. I had my gallbladder go crazy with my last pregnancy, stones like crazy, and I was in a ton of pain. Unfortunately I didn't get diagnosed until my third trimester so I had to wait out the rest if my pregnancy before getting it removed (your second trimester is your "safe zone" for surgery). I just thought I was having Braxton hicks contractions!
I've already had my baby but I developed gallstones sometime during or shortly after pregnancy. I'd never had problems before but two weeks postpartum I had terrible heartburn. At my six weeks pp apt my doc ordered an upper abdominal sonogram to be done and they found my gallstones. I am trying to find other ways to get rid of them. My sister has found a natural way to pass them and I plan to do that before they get too big and surgery can't be avoided
The first time I went to the hospital I was 18wks. They gave me morphine and kept me in for 3 days. They didn't treat it then because they misdiagnosed it as a liver problem but they treated the pain. I would still get it checked out!
Hirts on the right side. Like right under my ribs.
I want to head to the hospital cause of this pain but my OB said i have to be atleast 3 months before anything can be done it wont matter if i go to the hospital they wont do anything..
I had surgery just unser 2wks ago to have mine out. I didn't have stones so it was originally misdiagnosed, I had sludge and it stopped working. They did two ultrasounds to work identify it as I couldn't have a catscan. I was terrified to have surgery, I was 21wks pregnant, and cried all day but it went perfect. They checked babys heartrate a couple of times, i was out the day after, a week later I started to feel amazing - no more pain! Saw the ob today and he can't believe how well baby and I are doing now. Before we were looking at delivering anytime after 24wks now there's a good chance I'll get to 38wks (due to other complications).
Im not at the hospital im wondering what this could be. I went before but they didnt want to do a cat scan since im pregnant. And i started to get pains again but now its worse.
I had the surgery last may, I wasn't pregnant at the time though. Do you have to have the surgery?
