Thanks Ladies.

Melka:  Olivia and Grace were on my original list of names, DH wasn't crazy about Olivia and Grace just kinda fell out of the picture somehow.  I think Olivia Grace is a beautiful name tho. I know what you mean about having a simple name that gets screwed up.  Mine is Cassie and I've gotten all kinds of crap.  It was to the point where I just stopped correcting people, if it was close to my name I just answered to it, whatever LOL

I think I've narrowed the list down to:

Liliana Alaynah or Lilyana Alaina(h)
Lilyana Isabelle

I think at this point DH doesn't care as long as this kids gets a name and it isn't something ridiculous like Brunhilda LOL.

I really like the spelling of Alaynah and it makes it easy to pronounce as well! I also don't think it would be difficult at all for the child to learn to spell. Also going with Liliana seems to be a great idea :)

I love Lilyana - but I do think that the above middle names may be a bit much - I like the Lilyana Alaina - I think if I were to do a typical name with a twist on the spelling I would stick with a traditional middle name.... I let my husband pick the name of our little girl - I have already had two children with my previous husband - Hannah Katelyn and Jared Michael...and I picked both -  He picked Olivia Grace - I know that they are considered popular and not very original - but I have a pretty simple name - Melanie and you would not believe how much I get Mo LAN IE , and all sorts of odd screw ups.... it gets frustrating... I really like Lilyana - I mentioned that one last week to DH - but I guess I am stuck with Olivia because we had the shower today and recieved many items personalized to Olivia... Good Luck...

IF we were to go with one of the names with Alaynah I think I will change the spelling to Alaina.

JadedSweetheart:  Thanks, it is the one I favor most at the moment but that's subject to change at any time LOL.

LOL, it looks like there is pretty much a tie with the names! I chose Hayleigh Alaynah because I wanted to name ours Hayleigh if we had a girl, but DH raised a stink about it..LOL. Sounds like I'm not the only one who is having trouble getting DH to agree!

I chose Lilyana Alaynah because it appeared to be the combination you favored most.  In the end it's all about the one you like best. :)

Oh and we call Elaina "Lana" all the time, too! I saw that was one of your nickname ideas.

My oldest daughter's name is Elaina and we pronounce it uh-lay-nuh, not ee-lay-nuh. In fact I get horribly annoyed when people pronounce it incorrectly because I do not like the ee-lay-nuh pronunciation. Call me anal!

A more classical spelling of the name is Elena. I'm not too found of the Alaynah spelling but if you love it then do it! I don't see how it is hard to pronounce. I'm sure DH will be able to pronounce the name after trying it out. There are so many ways to spell this name, including Alana or Alanna if you like the "A" instead of an "E".

I really really really like Lilyana Isabelle and voted for that one! It is SO not common and the nicknames are super cute, too! The other names seem to be creeping up on the "common" scale.

DH said something about long names and not wanting this kid to have a hard time learning how to spell it...but in looking at the names I chose for this one...they aren't really any longer than the names of the kids we already have and they did just fine.  I'm thinking the spelling of Lilyana will be changed to Lilianah becuase the y's in both names just dont look right.  If we WERE to go with the one I really like I'd spell it Liliana Alaynah.

I dunno what dh is talking about "Liliana Alaynah" is no longer than "Alexandra MacKayla" or "Samantha Abigail"

I thought about the name Leah (various spellings) but I really want a name that's a little longer and can be shortened.

Lilyana Mirelle? my husband LOVES the name lilyana and I LOVE the name alaynah...but I think they would be very long together...but soooo pretty!!! I still wish in some ways that we had been expecting another girl because I am in LOVE with the names Lyah (lie-uh) and Leeya (lee-uh)...but I can't see how either would fit with any of your chosen names or I would totally tell you to steal them from me and use them!

(I understand what you mean about spelling...a lot of people who use Kahlan's name spell it differently (Kaylyn...Kaylynn...or other variations on the theme....) but Kahlan's name is actually "kay-lann" not "kay-lynn" although I usually just tell people "lynn" because that's how they want to pronounce it anyway..but i always say Lan because it's the celtic pronunciation of the form we chose, technically two different names...and that means a lot to me...anyway, sorry to ramble but you know me LOL)

Thanks...I really liked the spellings becuase they aren't typical. With Alaynah...it's LIKE Elaina only pronounced SLIGHTLY different. Uh Lay Nuh instead of E-Lay-nuh.  Kind of like a modern twist on an old classic.  Lilyana Alaynah I think is my favorite at the moment.  If I HAVE to compromise Lily Alaynah still doesn't sound to bad but I really like the longer names that are shortened for a nicname.  Even if I have to go to the more traditional spelling of Liliana!

I really like Lilyana Alaynah and i don't have any problem pronouncing them, especially the way you spelled Alaynah it almost spelled phenetically, there are much harder ways to spell it! I am thinking about naming my baby girl (i'm 28 weeks) Katiana (pronounced Ona not Anna) and do worry she will be called anna a lot! I am plannign on calling her Katie most of the time anyway! Good luck and hope DH gets over it!

Just FYI here are my other kids names:

Alexandra MacKayla (Alex)
Samantha Abigail (Abby)
Zachary Thomas (Zach)
Jacob Gabriel (Gabe)

fairly common names but the nicnames are as common for their ages so there arent' quite as many kids with the same names in their age groups.

GRRR DH is really plucking my nerves now.  I suggested these names to him.  And the 2 I REALLY like he gripes about how he doesn't want something no one can pronouce:  Lilyana and Alaynah...So I got really mad and snapped at him that apparently HE is the only one who CAN'T pronounce them becuase everyone else, including my 13 yo can do it just fine.  He said he likes Lily but doesn't like the longer version and he was all sarcastic about pronouncing it wrong.  GRRRR, men!!!

I like Gabi too but the only thing is we already have Gabe and Abby and I'm afraid it'll get really confusing.

Atleast DD13 was on my side with the name disagreement lol.
