HCG, IUI

FNP
I am a little nervous... I had my IUI procedure on 2/17 after using follistim. They saw 3 follicles and gave me an injection of HCG and made me come back in 24hrs for a second insemination. The next day I had a sono and I had 7 follicles. My concern is that everything I am reading says you should have your IUI sone 36-40 hours after insemination. Was 24 hours later too early? (I really hate this 2 week waiting period!)

I know that I was doing the same thing but with timed intercourse... I was taking the hcg shot and then 24 hours later having sex. We didn't conceive during those six months, but my re is one of the best in the country and she assured me that the timing was absolutely right. I think it is all of the discretion of the doctor and how many mature follicles you have... I think that it takes a good 10 to 12 hours for the sperm to reach its destination so I think with 7 mature follies you probably have a good chance =) Best of luck to you!
