HELP I CANT INJECT MY SELF!!!!

I have a blood clotting disorder so from a bfp i had to start aspirin then at 6 weeks ive got to start clexane injections in my belly. I started the injections last night the one last night the nurse gave me and tonight im was meant to do it my self. I got everything ready to do it but couldnt bring my self to do it i just cried like a baby and couldnt stop shaking!! my partner had to do it in the end, i dont think i'll ever get the hang of it, it feels wrong to inject your self. Has anyone had to inject them self? if so how did you get used to it. Please help. kelly x

I didn't inject myself, but my grandma had HEP C and I had to give her her injections. (similar to an insulin injection... done same way with same sized needle, but less often)

It wasn't too bad. as for injecting myself~ I've done my own piercings (multiple ones) and handled it fine. I've got to think that a simple injection would be easier than a full piercing. :)

Good luck and a HH  9 months!

With time and practice you will be able to inject yourself. Give yourself time and don't pressure yourself. You're doing this for your baby and believe me--- it will be worth it in the end! Just keep telling yourself, "I want my baby, I want my baby, I want my baby" in your mind. That's what I do when I want something badly enough.

want- Sorry you are going through this.....

Everything4- I have been on bed rest for 5 wks. I'm hoping that it gets better soon. Is this part of your complications? I noticed your mood!

Hang in there...I know its tough but people's minds are incredible when push comes to shove.  Think about all those people who do incredible things...you can too...your incredible thing is going to be able to inject yourself like a pro and take care of yourself!  Imagine if you were like allergic to a bee or something and if you didn't do it, you would literally die!  I think I'd jab myself pretty quick!

I've never had to inject myself...and I can see why it feels wrong...BUT our cat was diagnosed with diabetes, and for awhile, I had to have my husband give him his insulin 2x a day for almost a year because I just felt terrible doing it.  Well, his schedule changed and I was the only one home to do it so I did what I HAD to do.  My point is, you need to do what you HAVE to do...know that it isn't for you, its for baby and that there is no choice involved!  Try to put mind over matter and after a few times, hopefully it will be second nature...Good luck!
