That isn't what my labor pains felt like.  My pains felt like my whole stomach tightened to the point where I couldn't speak.  When the baby was really low, I felt like I had to make a BM.  Maybe the baby is just pressing on something.

i had this pressure feeling with my last, and the groin pain. i put it down to the fact that he was a big baby at 8lbs 13ozs. it wasn't a sign of labour coming on though, i had it for a few weeks before i went into labour 4 hours before i was scheduled to be induced.

i am 37 weeks. My baby has been in postion and ready to go for a long time. I was hospitalized for 5 weeks at 26 weeks because of a short cervix, only found because his head was to low for them to measure. i spent 4 more weeks at home on bedrest and have only been allowed up for a week now

Perhaps your baby is just getting into position :) I never had thigh or groin pain during labor. Keep track of your pain. Contractions have a pattern and start coming closer and closer together. I don't think you're in labor. My pain also started in my back, like really strong menstrual cramps. Good luck!!! :)

How far along are you?? Babies tend to move down into the pelvis about 2-4 weeks before delivery in first deliverys, meaning they get themselves ready for delivery. I wouldnt worry too much if this is your first, Its normal for baby to drop and be VERY uncomfortable for a few weeks:( The tightening you feel are BH contractions. I would have your doctor give you an exam if they make you double over. But if its real labor then those contractions you are feeling are really dialating your cervix. It could be today, tommorow or sometime in the next few weeks. Sorry your uncomfortable:( Are your contrations regular? If they are, time them and give L&D a call, they might want to see you............and if its nothing, well heck thats what they are paid for, Good luck!!

Hi! My son is 16 months old, but I centainly still remember the labor pain!!! I didn't feel any pain in my groin or thigh, what I felt started as a dull back pain, different than a normal pain. Then, I started to feel strong contractions, stronger than brackston hicks. It increase from 10 minutes, to 7, to 5....until I couldn't breath and they were about 2 minutes apart. That's when we went to the hospital and a few hours later, my son was born! I would suggest you giving the doctor a call, maybe he would like to see you. And if you are in labor, just try to stay calm, and enjoy the moment...as painfull as labor can be, it is a very precious moment!
Good luck....and sorry I couldn't be of much help!
