first I think it is digestive thing, If it were lactose then it would of showed up sooner and if he did the milk based formula then that is not it either.
I would go to a Whole Foods grocery store and get goats milk for him. It is the easiest thing on the belly and closest to breastmilk.
They have it in cans in your regular grocery also but it cost more.
bump again i need some good ideas thoughts on this ladies im desprate
oh no how awful for you!!!
I think the only thing you can do is what your doing and going to see the Dr. It sounds to me as though his tummy is not tolerating any milk, the only thing i would suggest is using follow on milk, which is a powder base just like formula and is very very light on the tummy, other than that i would suggest taking him to the dr.
Good luck!! at least he likes cheese and yogurts etc.. so he is getting his calcium
ya he handles everything else just fine mac and cheese, cheese (as cheese and crackers are one of our treats during the day) ice cream yogurt pudding stuff like that but the milk is a whole nother story i just don't get it it really has me stumped and and i keeping shim on straight formula till i see his ped dr on thurs
If it were me I would try starting out by substituting 1/2 ounce of his normal bottle of formula with whole milk. Do this for 3-4 days. Then increase it to 1 ounce for 3-4 days then 1 1/2 ounces and so on until you slowly work it to where it's straight milk and no formula. There is going to be a reaction from his system as it adjusts to digesting something foreign to it. Diarrhea can be a normal thing when adding milk into the diet. As long as it isn't bloody and he's not getting dehydrated it should be ok and should ease off as his body learns to adjust to the milk. The vomiting is a different story.
Is he able to eat any other dairy products like cheese? I would probably just hold off on trying the milk again until you see his ped.
