Has anyone ever??

Has anyone/know anyone who gave birth to a full term baby and the baby didn't survive? I know most of the time if there is something medically wrong w/ the baby all the tests and u/s would show something, but has this happened and u knew never (before birth) there was anything wrong? If so, what turned out to be the cause?

Nove 15th of 2002 I gave birth to my daughter, she wasn't due until Dec 25th an xmas baby! She was my first baby and I was 17.

I had several and I mean several about 15 or so u/s, I would fake stuff so I could go to the ER and get an u/s lol. When I went into labor it was exciting I was so happy to finally have my baby.

But it didnt turn out that way, She was born with a genetic condition called Aperts Syndrome, and Aperts syndrome cannot be diagnosed through u/s or genetic testing as it is extremely rare, so rare they refuse to make tests for it. Well back when I had my daughter anyways.

She passed away 30 min after birth, and it took a long long long long time to heal from it, infact im terrified and have been with my other pregnancies. She is my lil angel and Im actually happy she passed away because she would have suffered tremendously.

Apert Syndrome is a cranialfacial disorder, you can google it and get a few results.

ok, so if it is white/yellow.. with no odor/mild odor.. and i have it almost everytime i use the bathroom does that sound normal?
It is def not urine.
I just thought it was completely normal, so i have never mentioned anything to my midwife. Im thinking about giving the nurse a call to ask some questions now.

You can always have your Dr check. It's a simple swab test. But it is probably just cm. You should talk to your Dr to put your mind at ease.

She leaked very minimal, but it was over a course of several months.

I too thought the same as you because I had discharge in my panties. I asked my Dr and he said it was just cm. I believe amniotic fluid has an odor sometimes described as bleech or amonia. Or atleast that's what I've read. Next time you're in the Dr check with him to be sure.

I went into labor at 37 wks 3 days only to find there was no heartbeat.  I had just had a check up the day before and all was fine.  turned out to be cord related...he had the cord around his neck twice so tight it was flat.

Kirby: most likely what you are experiencing is not amniotic fluid, but rather cervical mucus which increases during pregnancy.  If you are worried...you're doc CAN take a swab and test it.

when you say leaking fluids during the pregnancy..do you mean alot???

Or was it minimal??
This may be TMI..but, everytime i use the bathroom there is always a small amount of something on my underwear..

I have a very close friend who has a very sad story,  she had 3 miscarriages all early before 8 weeks,  she then got pregnant again and all was going well.  She got to 37 weeks and went into natural labor, she went to hospital as the contractions got closer together,  when she was in the lift going up to the delivery room she felt her baby moving,  10 minutes later in the delivery suite they could not find the heartbeart, so they brought in a portable scanner, after a few minutes the told her her baby had died.  She then went thru 4 hours of labor and gave birth to her beautiful baby girl but she was still born,  They found no reason at all for this even after a post mortem they have no idea what happened to her.   But there were good things to come for her, she got pregnant just a couple of months later and had a perfectly healthy baby girl born at 38 weeks with no complications (but she was closely monitored throughout the entire pregnancy) then a year later she gave birth to another healthy girl and 5 weeks ago she had twin boys, so in the space of 5 years she has had 5 children, she is such a patient person and I thought instead of telling you just about he the saddness of her stillborn I thought I would let you know that things really turned around for her.  Although she will never forget her precious first baby.

My sister was leaking fluid throughout her pergnancy. The Dr never indicated there was a problem that couldn't be fixed. When her baby was born (full term) his kidneys did not develop. He lived on life support his first hour of life and they had to let him go. We all got to say our goodbyes. He was a beautiful baby boy. You would have never guessed he was incomplete. He would be about 16 or 17 now.....You can't help but think how he would have turned out.....Oh well! God has his reasons.....
