Has anyone had spotting with normal ultrasounds?

Hi, I am currently pregnant for the third time (2 previous miscarriages). Currently, I am 7w6d.  My first miscarriage was in July 06 and my last miscarriage was at the end of June 07. My last pregnancy wasn't normal as my hcg levels started leveling off at six weeks and the gestational sac was measuring small. The heart rate never got above 118bpm. I started spotting bright red during my 8th week and regular bleeding at 9w3d.  An ultrasound showed the heartbeat had stopped and I had a DNC that Wednesday.  So far this pregnancy has gone well. My hcg levels are normal, the gestational sac is normal and the heartbeat at 7w4d was 158bpm.  My problem is since the beginning of my sixth week I've had cramping on and off, and pink discharge or brown discharge about once a day.  I've been having weekly ultrasounds and before each one, I thought for sure I was miscarrying again.  My doctor thinks my cramping is due to a large cyst on my left ovary and they cannot find a reason why I am spotting.  My next ultrasound is not for two weeks and I know I am going to worry everyday. Especially since my last pregnancy ended sometime in my 8th week. My first one ended in the 9th week but I had no bleeding or cramping, there just wasn't a heartbeat at my first appointment. I don't know any other details since I was not monitored like my last one and this pregnancy.  I've also had all the normal tests to see if there was a reason for my miscarriages and they are all normal.  Did anyone have spotting like this or know what it might be from?

Thank you.  It's just frustrating not really having a reason for my spotting.

Spotting can be normal in early pregnancy and cramps as well. If you are getting an internal ultrasound they say that you can spot for a couple days after. Try not to worry yourself since everything sounds like it looks good in your ultrasounds. I had one miscarriage that I only spotted during but this one I bled like a period for 5 weeks almost every day bright red and now I'm 30 weeks. It really just depends on the pregnancy but you sound good to me! :)

Oh, and I am also on 200mg of Prometrium once a day.
