Heart Murmur While Pregnant

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me...today i went to a specialists appointment to find out the date i will be having a csection (i'm now 31 weeks pregnant) and she did an exam and discovered that i have a heart murmur. All she said is it's sometimes normal during pregnancy and nothing to worry about but im very worried. Will this effect my pregnancy in anyway? Is it dangerous to be pregnant with a murmur. I've had my heart listened to many times before and nothing has ever been said so i'm assuming it's new. I'm terrified now. Is it dangerous to have a csection with a heart murmur? Just what i needed another worry. I've already had way too many with this pregnancy. Can anyone shed some light?

I appreciate any advice or information

thanks for the reply..i'm hoping that's all it is..i've just had so many worries and complications with this pregnancy i really didn't need to hear i had that on top of everything else. It's funny my normal dr didn't pick up though. It was the surgeon who will be doing my csection that did. Weird. Anyway i really appreciate you taking the time to answer. Did the murmur effect you in anyway? Ie shortness of breath? dizziness?

Hey hey! I had a heart murmur with my first little boy and my doctor said it was due to the heart having to pump more blood then usual. I had a completely natural birth with him and it was long and painful as poo but at my pp appointment at 6 weeks my heart had gone back to normal with no murmur. I wouldn't worry too much and it can be very normal, if your doctor knows about it then I would say there is nothing to worry about =)
