I'm a medical assistant at an OBGYN and although I can't give you medical advice, I can speak from personal experience as a mother of 3 and one on the way. Mustard is one food that can cause heartburn due to it being highly acidic, but it can also counteract it for some people. Milk tends to calm heartburn and acid reflux (the hot sauce bubbling in your throat feeling that was mentioned earlier) due to the dairy quickly breaking down the acids as well as coating the lining of your throat and stomach. For those who re lactose intolerant, try a carbonated drink or warm tea/cocoa. Hope this helps :)
I just swallowed some mustard, and drank milk. Then googled heartburn relief and mustard was one of the foods to stay away from!!
Sounds like hell! Thanks ladies, do you know how to prevent it or what foods cause it? Kind of happy, maybe my baby girl will have a head full of hair (: lol
You can also get it in your throat and it feels like you drunk hot sauce and its bubbling in your throat and just won't go away.
