Heavy Bleeding

Hi, I am 16 weeks pregnant anfd have been bleeding for the last 2 weeks..It all started when i went to the bathroom and there was a bit of blood only on the toilet paper and then when i wiped again there was a quarter sized clot..So we went to the ER..while thee I started gushing blood..I could feel when it would start to come and then it would gush out..When my blood gushes out I have severe lower abdomen cramping and I feel alot of pressure..had 2 ultrasounds since then..baby is doing fine..hb of 179..and my cervix is closed..they say that i have a large pool of blood between the uterus and the baby..I pretty much constantly bleed when i pee but it rarely will leak onto my pad..I have not gushed blood for 1.5 days now..I'm just curious as to how this happens and is my baby in alot of danger?

I would have pressure but not any cramping however when I wasn't bleeding I would cramp and then as soon as I started to bleed the cramps would stop.

Yeah the stuff on the internet completely freaked me out when I read it but then after speaking to women who actually had it (and questioning my doctor like a mad women) my fears were put to rest.

Its called a subchorionic hematoma and they are actually really common in pregnancy and I haven't heard of someone not pulling threw. Usually they resolve on their own but it can take some time. I had dark red bleeding (like a period if not worse) for 5 weeks in early pregnancy and I'm now 30 weeks and she is completely healthy. Just make sure you take things easy: no heavy lifting, try to stay off your feet as much as possible, no sex. Best of luck to you keep us informed.
