Heavy period post partum.....

Sorry tmi. For 11 days now Ive had my period, it started out as light brown spotting and for the past couple days its been very heavy red blood. Meaning the whole toilet paper is coverd and the pad soaked. I called the nurse and she said it is not normal. I had my son 2 mos ago on Aug 2nd. got my period on Sept 27th. 2 days ago I had a pain in my left side for 2 days.....it went away now....im not feeling like myself. What could it be? and should i wait it out or go to the ER because I can't get in to see my OB until WED. ?????

I know....I hate it cause I HATE the ER I really don't wanna go......I should have went already but im just sticking it out to see if it will start to lessen.....so far its pretty consistent...I wish I could just get in to see the OB sooner...no available appts on mon or tues unfortunately.....they should stick me in there as an emergency bc it isnt normal....as the nurse said.

You know, I really don't understand doctors sometimes. Why would they tell you that the bleeding isn't normal, and then make you wait almost a week before you come in?? I personally don't know if its normal or not, I still haven't gotten my pp period, but I'd go at least to an immediate care place, even if you don't want to go to the ER, since your nurse has already said that its not normal. They could at least let you know if you should go to the ER or not.

what worries me is that im at 11days now...and how heavy it is, i read on babycenter how it could be secondary pp hemorrhage

That's what happened to me about a month ago! i made a post about it too..it was like a gush of bright red blood 24/7 and it lasted about 6 days...and then it suddenly stopped. If you're feeling odd your iron levels may be getting too low so i would say it may be worth a trip to urgent care if you can't be seen for another 5 days.
