Usually you should only be checking cervical mucus regarding what you see on the toilet paper when you wipe as well as what you sense (slippery, rough, wet, etc).  The more slippery, stretchy, clear and wet your mucus is or you feel, the more fertile you should be.  As someone who teaches this we don't recommend checking cervical mucus at your cervix unless it is someone who naturally has very very little mucus in general.  Also you should be aware of it every time you wipe and that would be much to much internal checking like sweetangel said if you are doing an internal exam every time.

As far as internal exams go you would need to do that if you were checking the cervix for if it is hard/soft high low etc.  The more open and soft it is the more fertile you should be.  It should close and harding quickly after ovulation.  If you want to do this it should be done in the afternoon or evening NOT following a bowel movement.  We only recommend checking this once to twice a day however, not every time you go to the bathroom.  And like sweetangel said it is best to check most days for an entire month to know what is normal for you.  Some women who have had babies before have a slightly open cervix all the time just as an example.  You need to check yourself a week before you expect your period etc, or a week after you are certain you have ovulated and this can be a good gauge of what closed/hard/infertile is for you.

One last thing.  When you described the mucus you were seeing at your cervix as white that to me does not describe fertile mucus.  Fertile mucus, the egg white they talk about, should be rather clear.  If it is creamy etc. It is not generally fertile ovulation type mucus. Also if you start seeing the white cm increase it could signal an infection.  Also when you say quite a bit...for most women fertile mucus when it is ovulation time would cause you to feel like you should wipe several times after going to the bathroom as there is that kind of larger quantity present and it is a slippery/lotion type sensation...and you thought you were being to descriptive right?  Sorry, but the only way to really describe it is to do so! :-)

Sounds like you ovulated right around the 25th or so and what you are seeing now is just more from you looking for it then from it being there to signal anything.

Good luck to you!!

Based on your temps, it seems that you ovulated on 12/25...not sure about the ewcm...I always ignored my cm and just went by my temps.  Also, I was told that even if you are a doctor, checking the cervix can be a confusing/misleading thing unless you have checked your cervix every day for several months to follow the pattern of its positioning...I was told that it can even vary from hour to hour and obviously day to day.  You can also irritate it or introduce bacteria up there from all the checking.  I would stop checking.

Looking at temps only I would have said the most likely day for ovulation was 12/25.  Once you see the temp jump up ovulation should have occurred, usually the day before. However if you did ovulate the cervical mucus should have dried up shortly there after unless it is being caused by some kind of outside factor.

Are you seeing large quantities EWCM?  If not is it possible it is cause by an irritant, like scented toilet paper or body wash etc.  Are you more stressed the normal?  Are you sick etc?  All these things can effect what you are seeing regarding cm.  Good luck! I hope that helps a little even though it's hard to give you any kind of confident answer!
