I am a nurse.  I work in the NICU.  You can have a healthy pregnancy even with herpes.  You have to take any suppersive medication.  It can be very dangerous for you to have an outbreak when your water breaks, because then your baby is no longer protected.  If that happen you're baby will be born with active lesions.  I have seen it happen.  In babies they can even have lesions on their eyes.  So with all that said, it is very important to protect yourself and your baby.  Take your meds as ordered.  I hope this helped.
