Hiccups?

19 weeks and he has hiccups like all the time. I have had 4 before but none has had them like this. He gets them like 3 or more times in an hour day and night. Has anyone had their little one to do this? My DH keeps asking if everything is all right. I did nto feel like it is anyhting to worry about but he gets me pariniod for some reason. I guess casue this will be my first since the death of my daughter. But really hiccups do not mean anyhting bad right?

Well as I am early yet at 19 weeks I was not sure waht was going on and this is my 5th baby:) It has been 8 years and I totally forgot. He was probable doing it sooner but it never dawned on me that it was hiccups. I kept feeling this rythmic movment jsut in one spot not squirming ir kicks and asked him what on earth was he doing:)LOL then I thought for a min and remembered what it was like. I felt freety stupid but it is cute. Now out of 5 he has the most. My second had them alot and my others had them some my 4th did nto have them hardly at all. I never felt them with my first till I was like in the last trimester from what I remember as with the third.

my son had hiccups all the time and he was head down ( engaged at 28 weeks) so I felt I had a "pulse" most  of the time. My doctor said it was a good sign that everything is working.

Yeah. For me it kind of feels like a "pulse" down there or where your baby is at. Like every 2 or 5 seconds you feel like a veeery soft bump and it goes on for a couple of minutes or more. It's a very soft pulse. I didn't realize they were hiccups until when I was about 29 weeks lol

All 3 of mine have had hiccups. I have heard that its cause by fetal drinking or fetal breathing, which causes the flow of amniotic fluid in and out of the lungs, stimulating the diaphragm to contract.....All in all, its not a bad thing!

my son who had the hiccups all the time did not have acid reflux, he was just a little gassy.

I hope he does not have acid reflux! I have it and a hyatal hernia and I can not sleep laying down. My first ahd that and it fixed by the time he was sitting up.

Yeah it is cute!!!!! Have to give it that!

I think I read on another board that some doctors have been saying that if your baby has a lot of hiccups, he/she will have problems with acid reflux when she/he comes out. IMO I don't think its bad, its so cute feeling the baby hiccuping!

Yes, mine had hiccups ALL the time.  When he was born he still got hiccups several times a day, it was so cute, when he hiccuped as a baby it sounded like someone was squeezing one of those squeaky toys.

Hiccups aren't bad, it's just another way to feel the baby move.  My little boy is now 21 months and I think sometime around 9 months or so he grew out of the hiccups all the time.
