According to my last cycle, I am now 4 days late for AF. It is now day 37 of my cycle. I took a HPT this morning and the control line was dark and came up quickly so at first I thought it was negative again, but after waiting a few more minutes, I could see another line appear, not as dark as the control strip, but definitely there, is this a positive test???

sounds good to me as a line is usually a line if it comes within the right amount of time.

Sounds like a positive, i remember taking a test early and the line was faint and as the days went by the line got darker.  Fingers crossed thats a BFP for you:)

If the line came up within the designated time (usually 10 minutes) and you can clearly see the second line without squinting or changing the lighting...

...then yes, it is a positive!
