Hoping for some progress!

In an hour I'm leaving for my 38th week appointment! I haven't had any dilation checks at all yet but am going to ask for one today. Let's hope for some progress!

Per my midwives request, she ask that I start drinking raspberry leaf tea. It's been pretty popular amongst women on forums because they think it puts you into labor. Well that's not true. The truth behind the tea is that it can shorten your labor time, makes more productive and stronger contractions and helps with bleeding post delivery, not to mention all the wonderful vitamins and minerals it gives you! So once you hit 37 weeks you should definitely start drinking it in prep for labor and delivery. Found at health food stores and vitamin stores. I didn't even bother looking. I just walked up to the cashier and said, "Please, just tell me where it is!" because I'm so darn tired all the time and didn't want to play find-the-tea.

I've been drinking the tea and it's giving me crazy contractions. So definitely hoping for progress, at least 3cm would be great (that's what I was with my other two daughters and had them 2 days before their due date).

Agree with LosingMyMindinGA. You don't have to consent to another c-section! Good luck!

RiotQueen:  how come you are scheduled for a c-section at 39 weeks if you want a VBAC?  I honestly believe that while, yes, there are some more risks involved with vbacs, doctors and everyone else tend to hype those risks up a little more than they need to be.  I had a c-section with my first and had FOUR succesful vbacs.

I'm DEFF gunna try that!
I'm gunna start at 36 weeks though cuz I'm scheduled for a c-section at my 39th week and so I'll have less time to try n go into labor on my own and get my VBAC!
Good luck!
I get my cervix evaluations every week starting at my 36th week apt cuz my doc wants to keep ahead of me so we know what's going on and what not.
VBACs can be dangerous and we need to take precautions!

My body really responds to stimulus when pregnant (membrane sweeping, artificial rupture of membrane, walking, etc.) so I'm hoping EPO and the tea is really going to work wonders! I didn't even have long labors with my first. The second birth was a little longer but I think it's because they waited so long to break my water and had me laying prostrate on the bed the entire time, unable to move.

yay! You are getting there. I took EPO with Jeremiah and drank red raspberry leaf tea like crazy with Jesse. Never noticed any difference, but it can't hurt. I did have a very short labor with Jesse, so maybe the tea did really help! You are so close now. Good luck!

How exciting!!

I've been drinking the red raspberry leaf tea every day now (almost) since I found out that I was/am pregnant!  It's supposed to help with strengthening the uterus and can help with morning sickness.. along with a host of other benefits.. Wise Woman Herbal - The Childbearing (or Childbirthing?) Year is a great book.. my doula friend lent me her copy for a bit & it goes through all sorts of natural helpers.

Good luck and best wishes with your upcoming labour and birthing!

Gonna try it JoyRenee. Gonna be 38w tomorrow. I can't go another two weeks. My legs and feet are soooo swollen so I'm hopeing by next weekend she'll be out. Gonna do walking everyday and the tea to see if it helps. My next OB appt is on Tuesday and they will check to see if I've dilated. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the tip.

melaniewilliams- Best of luck to you! I hope you go into labor soon!!! Your baby must be so comfortable in her/his surroundings.
