How will my low blood pressure affect my baby?

Ok, so I have always had a low blood pressure. I know pregnancy is suppose to bring it down at some point, but them it will go up. Yesterday at the OBGYN, my bp was 85/59. Before pregnancy I was running at about 100/70 and sometimes lower, sometimes higher, but never your average bp. The doctor didnt mention my low bp during the visit at all so Im guessing it did not concern him. But I keep thinking this has to affect the baby is some way. Her heartbeat and everything seems to be healthy though. I guess as a first time mom I cant help but to be a little paranoid about this. I go to see my cardiologist in June to have an EKG done and will ask her about all of this during my check up, but was wondering if anyone here knew anything or has a very low bp with their pregnancy??
Thanks!

I have pretty low blood pressure as well. Not quite as low as yours, but I have never had any major issues and this is my third baby. Although today while taking a shower I got super flushed and felt dizzy and could barely breathe. It was strange. That hasn't happened in a while this pregnancy. Just drinks lots of water and take it easy!

I also have low blood pressure and it was never a problem in my first pregnancy. As mentioned above, adequate fluid intake is important as is an adequate intake of salt, always helps in keeping your bp up. Dizziness is a common symptom in pregnancy, but it may affect us girls a bit more than others. Good luck!

I also have low blood pressure.. Mine is higher than what yours was today but generally like 95/64....  My doctor was concerned about it at first but i havent been an issues.. It says in everything i read, its not a concern like hBP for the baby but you do risk fainting, fallling,etc... there is also a risk of blood pooling in your legs if you sit too long etc.. I havent had any of thesse issues yet though...

I think my doctor is less concerned about it now because my blood pressure is consistently in the same range and I havent had any issues to date

My doctor just tells me to drink plenty of water...

I have always had low blood pressure, some days lower than others. Honestly it has never been an issue in pregnancy. It can be low enough sometimes that I get light headed or dizzy so have to take it easy but it hasn't ever concenred my Dr. It was actually a bit lower with my first than with this one. My Dr was never concerned, when I was in L&D they watched it closely but that was about it. Good luck and see what your cardiologist says.
