I FELT IT!!!

OMG!!! I'm so excited!!! I know it may not seem like a big deal, but I just felt my baby kick for the first time on "his" own...I usually have to have my hand on my belly to feel the baby kick, but this time I felt it just now!!! I just had to share it with somebody...since i cna't yell out " I FELT MY BABY KICK" from my cubicle(I'm at work right now) I wanted to share it with everyone...it's so weird...I was so worried that I hadn't felt anything and finally at 18 weeks and 2 days I felt it...Over the weekend I went to my fiancee's friend's performance and the music was so loud I put my hand on my belly and just felt like spasms...Can the baby hear really really loud music from the outside?? He was so restless...!! But yeah, I felt him kick for the first time without feeling on my belly!!

CONGRATS! Definitely the best part of pregnancy!!! You're going to feel it more and more and more...

About the music, baby can hear the music. Just think of it like how you hear things when you are underwater, but close to the surface. It is muffled, but really loud music can scare/startle a baby at first, then lull them to sleep.

I had a friend who was concerned during a concert and she brought a pillow and held it against her stomach to keep the baby extra muffled! LOL! Don't know if it can harm baby, but maybe something you could try if you go to anymore.

What a wonderful thing!

Chantal: Aww I like your belly pic!!! I'm gonna start taking mine too!!! Yea the music was loud like concert loud, and I just felt the baby moving around.  He was either dancing to the music or saying "SHUT UP!!!" but knowing his dad, he was prolly dancing to the music...if he could hear it lol.

How exciting!! It's always wonderful to feel the baby kick for the first time like that! =) I'm not sure if the baby can hear loud music like that at 18 weeks....good question. I know it has to be pretty hard to hear things since the baby hears your heartbeat and everything else that goes on inside of you. Maybe the further along you get the easier it is for the baby to hear things on the outside? Anyway! congrats! =)
