IUD in place for 3 yrs. could I be pregnant??

He everyone so Ive been sitting here all morning looking into my questions I have regarding my Copper IUD. . I have had the copper IUD for 3 years now and have ALWAYS been on time with my periods, Untill This Month I am a week late now and I woke up this morning and threw up..Thought It mite be the flu untill I realised I felt better after being sick. .Im extreamly tired and have been experiancing some light cramping over the last few days and a small amount of pink discharge. . any ideas???

I have heard that it is possible to become pregnant whilst on copper IUD, the only way to be sure is to take a test. It may also be that your period is on its way just a little late.  Good luck

you could also be having a slight build up! That can happen on the IUD as well. I would most definitely take a pregnancy test. If you are indeed pregnant though there can be a risk of removing the IUD. If you still are concerned I would call your doctor and have them do an ultrasound to make sure that everything is okay and in place where it's supposed to be!

I would take a test just to be sure, I know a few ladies who conceived with the iud.
One of which had a son that was born with it implanted in his hand....crazy eh.
Be sure to take a test though, I know there is a risk of eptopic pregnancy with the IUD's aswell. Best of Luck
