Is it ok to be disappointed? !

Ok so today I had my baby shower an it was a lot of fun an everyone was happy an having a good time. But when I was opening the presents I only received clothes no one got me anything from my registries the stuff we really needed. Is that selfish of my to be kinda upset that we just got clothes an not bottles or blankets or anything nothing like that?

I know how u feel!! I had my second baby shower today and only 7 people were there and I didn't get any diapers! (That's what I told everyone I needed) the only good thing I got was the carseat that I already knew my grandma bought me! Then my mom's friends got me used blankets and bibs! (It had stains all over them) and I only got one outfit!
So frustrating! But it's whatever! I still enjoyed the baby shower! And still happy with what I got!

Bit inconsiderate as for people like me who live in UK and baby showers are not a big thing here we buy everything for our children you May get the odd gift when there born and that's it when I had my son I had everything and people bought me more of clothes and snow suits born in Feb I made sire he wore them and I took pictures and sent them to them with him in the clothes a lot of the stiff we bought then never got useded o was still grateful for when people had bought us and the same gose for our daughter now everyone I know knows I saved all my son's stuff so anything that is unisex I do not need as I still have from our son but people have bought us new stuff just as it is nice to have a few bits that are new like bedding and musicals playmats I'm still hreatfull for them I just sell on my old stoff and keep the new

Thank ypu you all have helped so much there's a couple things that I got that I already have that I'm going to exchange for some bottles an a few other things!  My mind is starting to ease :)

I feel like no one uses baby registries the only reason I made mine is to keep it as my own list of stuff and if anyone wants to buy from it good but I expect maybe 3 or 4 people to use it lol

You can return stuff without a reciept and get store credit. I brought back stuff and did that cuz i didnt need a million newborn/size 3 month outfits. You can bring it back to any store that sells that item. So jf you have 4 carters onesie that sells at target, babies r us, walmart, etc just bring them all to one of the stores and get the credit. You will get the lowest price it sold for last, but exchange jt for bottles or what you need. People love buying baby/newborn clothes. Bottles are no fun to buy as a gift. Lol.

You can return some of the stuff and get what you need. My cousin had to do that! Ya some people got upset but she was like I made a registry for a reason

I am so thankful for all the clothes because we do need that just kinda sad that I took time to really rink of what he needed an he didn't get any of it :(

Seems lik Noone uses Registries. My baby shower was july 19 &noo one got us anything from the registry.  Lik 60-70 something ppl&no one shop on the registry. I was kinda upset cause I took my time to put items tht we needed in there. So I feel your pain.

We got about a dozen RSVPs. But considering the size of my family (Mom is one of thirteen kids, dad is one of nine) the fact that I only had eight guests was pretty pathetic.

Oh and I only had about eight people show up. We invited over fifty. People don't make second babies a priority.

You want what you want of course but hey just think of it this way, now you won't need to get as much clothes and you can get the type of bottles and blankets that YOU like instead of receiving it and not liking the type they bought. It doesn't make you selfish it's just how you're feeling right now.

I know how you feel. My shower was today too and I have everything we need clothes wise. I honestly just asked for diapers and wipes. I got four outfits, three girly ones and one boyish one (we don't know the gender). No receipts so I can't exchange them for something we actually need. It's very frustrating, especially when you take the time to put together a well thought out registry.
