Is my baby safe?

HI,

My LMP is march 29 2009. I ovulated on 14th day(determined using follicular studies).I am 10 weeks pregnant now. I had my first USG done at the end of 7th week. The report said "Single IU gestational sac 11mm ,4weeks and 2 days is present" and also " Fetal pole and yolk sac are not seen due to early pregnancy".
what does it mean? is my baby too small? My doctor said it may turn to normal after some days.So i am asked to come for USG after 3 weeks .Tomorrow is my USG. can i expect heart beat of my baby? has someone experienced similar situation ? Please help me understanding. This is my first pregnancy.i have been longing for this for the past 2 years.

usually, a fetal pole and heartbeat are not spotted till around 7-8 weeks pregnant, so earlier scans are often a worry for the mother. your scan report sounds absolutely normal to me, and you should see a fetal pole and heartbeat tomorrow. good luck
