Is there a risk of uterine rupture after 3 c-sections?

I have had 3 c-sections. The last one was in june of 04. I am currently 5 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if there is a risk of uterine rupture during this pregnancy.

will you keep me posted on what information your doctor gives you???  i mean i totally trust my doctor, but i just want to know what other people in this position are told.

I was cut the same way all 3 times cindy, on the outside. Since there is no guarantee they cut your uterus the same way they cut your abdomen, I really don't know. Thanks for the reply kennedy. I am a bit more relieved knowing I am not the only person to have 4 c-sections. My first appt. is monday so I will definitely ask questions! Good luck with your new babies guys!

the 2nd and 3rd time i was cut in the same spot.  they actually cut out the old scar and sewed me back up (like a mini tummy tuck!).  i would think they would do the same for this one (my 4th) but i guess i need to ask him that question!  good luck!

i got a question for both of yall, i have had 2 c/s and soon to have my third. did they cut you the same way each time. i have heard people saying that they cut you a diffrent way with your third

i think there is a risk of uterine rupture during any pregnancy or delivery whether you have had a c-section or not.  i have also had 3 c-sections and am 6wks 5days pregnant and will be having my 4th c-section as well.  there is a slightly higher risk of rupture now i think but my doctor told me its still small.  there are also some other things that can put you as a possible high risk pregnancy.  but your doctor should take very good care of you and make sure you ask tons of questions and get all the answers you need.  good luck to you!
