Just out of curiosity...

Has anyone ever actually gotten sick from eating things that pregnant people are "not supposed to" eat. Like brownie batter, cookie dough, lunch meat, sushi, etc? Just curious cuz it seems like an extremely slim chance of someone actually getting sick from it. If so, what did you get sick from and what happened to you/baby? Also i will add, im not saying its ok at all so no negative comments please, just asking for experiences. :)

I have a eaten a small amount of cookie dough and I don't warm my lunch meat up I'm fine... But I have been craving eggnog. So bad like I just want a huge glass of it but I don't think that is a good idea so I only have two more weeks I'll just wait.

For the first two trimesters I CRAVED TURKEY sandwiches I ate them like 5 times a day and I'm not even kidding and my baby is perfectly healthy big boy, he's so damn healthy he started crawling and he's only 4 months old lol, it's more of a precaution I drank soda and coffee and ate crab and lobster and shrimp and basically if I craved it I ate it and clearly my young is not effected

And if nobody ever got sick there wouldn't be warnings. It may not be common but you can get sick from it so if it's a risk you are willing to put you and your baby through then that's your choice but they make cookie dough for eating raw that doesn't have eggs.

Lunch meat you can warm or eat in moderation, brownie batter and cookie dough I still sneak it occasionally it's just the risk of salmonella and that can be really bad during pregnancy and then sushi personally I don't eat it and you have to be careful what of sushi you eat because the mercury in some of the fish used
