I am 20 wks 1 day and i have had contractions all day but they were not regular most of the day. But now they are about 3 mins sometimes 5 and only last a couple of seconds but it hurts really bad. Should i go up to L&D to get checked out or wait till morning to see doc?

they went away and started again before i went to bed last night but now its in my lower back. Im calling my doc when they get back from lunch to get checked out because its starting to hurt really bad in my lower back sometimes in my lower adomen to.

At around 18 weeks I had some pretty severe pain in my left lower abdomen that would come and go....contractions?  Not sure b/c I 've never had one....I'm assuming that it was stretching.  DO you think this could have been what you were having?  Just an idea.  Anyway, glad they went away, it's scarey!

I didnt go but the pain finally stop about an hour after i posted but now they have started again but they are not regular and dont hurt as bad.

any update...?? I was also having some back pain and pain in my lower abdomen last night but when i got up and walked around they went away..anybody hear of braxton hicks this early?? I really thought i was going into labour but thankfully everything settled down! DId you call or go in?

Echoing what martika said. You need to call or go in. If you're starting labor they need to stop it.

Anytime you are having more than 4 contractions in an hour you need to go to L&D or see your Doctor ASAP. I'd say go to L&D TONIGHT!

Esp. since your only 20w pregnant!
