It is one of the seafoods to try to stay away from
Hi hon,
Well I've got books here and they all say not to eat lobster at all. But, I honestly think it will be ok just don't eat a lot of it. Don't make that your meal is what I mean. I would have bits and pieces as appetizer. I would then eat a regular, more recommended meal. Be careful and start out slowly. Cook that lobster real well ok?
And although it is fish.....it is one of those you should stay away from when you are PG. But, I would have just a little bit. I'm a huge fan of lobsters too!! God they taste so good lol....
Happy Bday to your Hubby :) Have fun!
nm you can have one 6 oz serving once a week. :)
It isn't ok. You cannot eat shell fish because of the mercury content in it.
I would say it's okay! Because they say you can eat fish twice a week and that's fish right? I ate lobster on Valentine's Day and I've been okay! I've been to the doctor and they said he's healthy!!! So there ya go!!! :-)
I've been wondering the same thing myself. Here is a great link with some basic info on eating fish and shellfish during pregnancy. It does not mention lobster specifically, but it's encouraging that lobster is not on the list of things to avoid. :)

I agree with nickie but definitely ask your doctor...shell fish is one of those allergies that can appear later in life (my mom ate it until her 28th birthday when my dad bought her a lobster and she discovered all of a sudden that she was deathly allergic)....and it is definitely one of the more common allergies to develop in adults, so during pregnancy I would imagine it would require even more careful consideration...your doctor will definitely be able to advise :).
I would say that it is okay as long it is steamed thoroughly... I haven't really heard of their being wrong with lobster just other shell fish like clams, oysters, and such... If you are worried about it then I would definitely ask your doctor just to make sure :P
