I don't feel my boobs as hard as they were a few days ago and wondering if I'm loosing my milk supply? Is this possible what should I do? I try and pump and barely get anything anymore is there anything I can do?
Usually they'll stop feeling firm after a few days. If your supply has dropped you can try mothers milk tea, motherlove more milk pills, fenugreek, blessed thistle. Are you pumping at least eight times a day? Breast milk is a supply and demand thing too. So pump or nurse more and try one of the above.
If you aren't pumping enough for your baby or it has decreased significantly, you should try the tea or call the lactation consultant at the hospital to see what you can do. If they recommend fenugreek, they'll tell you how much to take. I took three pills three times a day with my daughter.
Also, you have to make sure that when you pump the breast shields are not just pulling on your nipples. They gave me medium size at first at the hospital but when the lactation consultant saw me using them , she freaked out & brought me extra large which is what I really needed. You have to give it like a week with the increased pumping to see if it will work. Good luck!
There are larger nipple shields!?! Omg, I thought I just wasn't producing enough for my son! I pumped after every bottle I fed him trying to increase my milk to bottle feed it to him because his mouth was too small to latch on!!!
This has to be why I failed! IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN!!!
