Marcus Allen Davidson Arrived April 22, 2014 Labor story - Warning

Hi girls, I haven't been on here since I had liddo Marcus.

Well before you read any further I just want to warn you both I and Marcus had some complications especially myself.

On Monday April 21st at 10pm I went into St.Joseph's hospital here in Tucson az.
I got into my hospital gown and talked alot with my nurse about what would be involved with getting induced.  I gave a urine sample, signed papers, got an Iv in my hand. I was given a drink about every 2 hours to sofften my cervix.  They allowed me to eat. I was having contractions throughout the night in a lot of pain.  I asked the nurse for pain medication and she gave me fentanyl through my iv it helped for a while.  At 7am my doctor came in and said hi got the stuff and broke my water.  I was 2 centimeter 100%. And started me on pitocin.
She said ok now we just hurry up n wait. Around 8am my contractions were very bad I told my husband at 8:30 im calling for epidural.  I did and around 9am the anesthesiologist came in and gave it to me. I was having contractions through getting it and let me tell you the pain was soo bad! Few minutes later it was gone and I was numb. I told him I loved him and everyone laughed
the nurse gave me a foly cathater.  As soon as my urine emptied the baby dropped and hit his head on my pelvis his heartbeat dropped seriously low! The nurse rearranged the monitor and said omg is this baby or mom all I could hear was his little heartbeat drop I started praying almost crying the nurse pushed a button on her and all kinds of nurses rushed in with a table and they threw me on my side opened my leg and put a moniter directly on baby and idk what else they did but his heartbeat came back.
Around 10am I was 6 centimeters my husband asked if he could go take care of the dogs nurse said oh yeah she should dilate about one centimeter an hour plenty of time so he left about 10 minutes later as he got home nurse checked me and said omg your ready! Your 10 and ready to push! I said omg call my husband.  At this time my family showed up in the hallway my mom peaking in the door I yelled for them to go to lobby and called my mom inI ddidn't want her there but since my husband was gone I didn't wanna be alone she came in and started holding my leg I called my husband and he was there he left the car in the front and got in as soon as baby was coming out I pushed and pushed which was soo hard since I couldn't feel anything I gave one good push and he was out ;) they cleaned him and he cried I cried my husband held back tears <3 he cut the cord. They took Marcus to the table and cleaned him up as they did that they cleaned me up and sewed me up cuz I tore. Oh by the way I pooped a little lol my husband told me later he said it was no big deal doctor cleaned me up very quickly.
Marcus was born at 10:52am he was 7 pounds 13oz 21 inches

Well that was my labor.  Now for the terrible events I had to go through.

All was well and I was recovering my family was coming in to see the baby everything was good until the nurse said she was gonna massage my tummy / uterus as she did a massive amount of blood gushed out she cleaned me up and checked again it kept happening I was losing so much blood.  My doctor ordered me pills that go in my butt said that would stop the bleeding.  Well it didn't. She had a specialist come in and they did an ultrasound saw clots so she put her hand in there and pulled out the blood clots and they pushed on my tummy to clean all the blood out. That didn't work.  They gave me more pills.  A shot that was supposed to slow down blood ( this shot didn't work and the side effect was chronic diarrhea well later on after everything happened and I was trying to rest the shots side effects kicked in and I pooped in the bed twice and three times I had to use the bed pan the shot was so strong I had hardly any control over my bowels) what a nightmare!
They kept pushing on my belly trying to clean me out I was in soo much pain.  The doctor came in and had to scrape me like they do to those who have miscarriage or abortion she used a metal thing and cleaned me all out she asked anesthesiologist to give me pain medication in my epidural but he didn't get there in time my doctor started without him and I felt everything.  Finally he came and gave it to me as she was finishing up it kicked in and I felt better but got nauseous and threw up. They  cleaned me out added gauze and filled up a balloon in me to put pressure and slow down the bleeding. My doctor said if that didn't work she had to send me to O R to remove my uterus and I would need blood transfusion.  They monitored me through out the night and it did work but I needed to stay in the hospital for 4 nights total they wanted to keep me longer but I wanted to go home so they let me they were going by how I felt I said I can walk, I can take care of baby and I'll have help so they let me go. They gave me iron through my iv and soo much fluids to try and replenish what I lost. According to my blood levels I was very low and they wanted to give me the blood transfusion but I said no I wanted to try other things first so they gave me iron through iv and the fluids the terrible side effects of all these fluids though is my body swelled up especially my legs and feet! I thought I was swollen when I was pregnant thats nothing compared to the swelling im dealing with.  And it won't go away for a couple weeks.
So thats all I went through
I do want to say though St. Joseph's hospital was awesome they treated me and baby very good they gave husband and myself a special lunch with steak and all kinds of good stuff. They had very good snacks on hand whenever I wanted it
They took the baby to the nursery when I needed rest.  My pain was taken care of and they gave me pain medication every 4 and 6 hours. I felt like they handled my situation very well and they were well equipped. I was very pleased and happy I had my son at this hospital. The labor suite was clean and spacious and my recovery room was also very nice.

Marcus is worth everything I went through.  He is the most beautiful baby. He is soo cute and a very good baby he doesn't fuss for no reason if Hes crying he wants something
I am so in love with him!
and I also want to say thank god for my husband he really took on daddy role he learned how to feed Marcus and change him he took care of everything as I recovered :) I am very blessed ♥
