Maternity Photo's???

So my birthday was yesterday and my parents gift to me was a Maternity Photoshoot. In a way I'm excited because this is my first baby and I would like to have some pictures taken since I haven't really taken any. But at the same time I'm nervous! Either way I have to use it, it's a gift. My mom wants me to do it before the baby shower so I can show off the photos at the baby shower, which Idk of I'm comfortable with. My questions to all of you is:
1. Have you ever taken maternity photos? If so how did you feel about them?
2. At how many weeks did you take the maternity photos?

I'll be exactly 32 Weeks at my baby shower if I do it before than its that too soon. I've also been told by about 50% that I look bigger than the months I am and I've been told by the other 50% that I look smaller than the months I am... it's conflicting ur advice would help lol!

I got my pictures done at 35w and I did use my pictures for the baby shower and it looked beautiful. In the photoshoot I did two outfits so I selected the most conservative pictures for the baby shower

I just took mines Saturday I was 37 weeks and 1day. I'm in love with them, I did them underwater. Go for it you will love it

My niece does all of our pictures she is in photography and uses our pictures for her books! I love it! & my niece in cosmetology school does ery one's hair and make up! So its just like a professional photo shoot But it's more comfortable and close to home! & we used places around our town with all the memories!! My pictures were wonderful I was 30weeks

Thank you ladies all comments were good advice! I guess I'm jus nervous all the pictures I've seen for maternity look so beautiful but I don't think I will look close to what they look like. I'm planning to take them at 30 weeks if I like them I will put them for show at the baby shower if not I'm keeping them hidden. Lol

Lord I dnt remember when I did mine but I know I got them three days before my baby shower and passed them out to people that wanted well they chose which one they wanted they came out really cute I want to do this with my daughter since the father acts like pictures are the worst thing in the world I'm 35 weeks so I might just have a friend do it and edit it real good for me her and her lil sis in my belly

I was a little over 32 weeks whe we had ours done and I was definitely nervous that they wouldn't turn out. However, they turned out beautifully and we got a lot of compliments on them! They're definitely a great keepsake to have as well! :) I was also in the same boat as you, some people said I was really big for 32 weeks and some said I was really small. I never quite figured out which I was, but now I'm due in 9 days and so glad I got them done when I did! So swollen and uncomfortable now :)

I had my photos done at 30week's. I found the right photographer for me and it was amazing. I got my hair and make up done professionally and had an blast. I really didn't feel like an ugly family cow. :-P  The photos turned out beautiful and I could not wait to share them!!

I had them done at 33 weeks and had them framed and out for decoration at my baby shower which I had at 35wks :) I wasn't really too happy with them cause I just felt fat and huge but I got lots of compliments on them

I was going to take them but just never found anything cute enough to wear and now I'm just too far along and out of no Where got stretch marks so I refuse lol.

A long time ago I was given the sleeping gown my grandma wore on her wedding night it use to fit perfect now it won't go over my butt nor go over my boobs so I just got the idea out of my head.

But I think when ever you feel comfortable you can always do some before and maybe just have a friend take some cute ones of you when you're further
