if my doc can do it at 36wks im gonna have her do it!
im still debating, i think when i see my midwife tomorrow ill see what she says, if ive dilated more than like 2cm ill probably go for it, but i guess i will decide tomorrow...im scared tho lol.
I had mine done at 36 weeks and started having contractions an hour later that last 5 day tills I finally went into full blown labour. Im defiantly getting it done again this time.
Mine worked! I didn't even know what the dr was talking about when she asked if I wanted it done, but she said she recommended it so I agreed. My appt was at 9 that morning, and my water broke at home at 9 that night. If I could do it all over again, I probably wouldn't have let her do it, only because I wanted everything to go naturally. It is a little painful, I remember a lot of pressure and wanting to cry. But in my experience, it worked perfectly. Good luck!
go for it!!!! your so far dilated it should put you in labor either same day or next!!! =] you shound perfect for it!!
I will be 37 weeks Saturday & at my appointment Monday they checked me & I was 4-5 cm my next appointment is Monday would it be selfish or wrong of me to ask my doctor to do a membrane sweep?
i hear ya there! im 36wks and i have my first appointment today where they do the internal! i was already 1cm at 30wks! im hoping for progress now!! im hoping ill get a membrane sweep at 37wks...i have a SUPER awesome doctor this time and a diff hospital, so, hopefully i get one! i bought a pineapple today (fresh one) and cherries, and evening primrose oil and raspberry leaf tea...lol..i am trying everything NATURAL. =]
at my 36 week appt i was only 1cm, hopefully i made progress since then lol i cant stand all this pelvic pain!
when i was pregnant for my daughter i asked my doctor to give me a membrane sweep at 39wks and he said no...and i begged him and he said "fine ill do it" but i dont think he actually did it...and "it didnt work"
it didnt work for my friend..she had it done twice.....i think the second time it worked...it helps if you are already dilated though...if your not, it wont do anything
