Methadone

Any one else out there on methadone matinence or have been while pregnant? I'm 38 weeks on Monday, and I'm steadily getting more anxious for delivery. My dose is 120mg daily, I'm being induced on the 23rd and I'm so nervous my little guy will have withdrawals :( Some babies do well and go home, some have to stay and detox. Anyone else have experience with this? Thank you!

can i just say you absolutely do not need to divulge the whys and hows..but the fact that you are on a methadone maintenance programme is so commendable..i had a friend who was a heroin addict and it has got to be the most addictive drug ive ever seen..and i commend anyone who takes control over it and tries to get off it..u need full support and no negativity..good luck girl :)

Methadone if used wrong could definitely kill someone and I'm sure it's abused just as any other painkiller, which prescription medication kills almost more people than street drugs... But if you're taking it correctly and are prescribed it, don't listen to other people, you gotta do what you gotta do! But I'm assuming your baby will go through some type of detox since it is an opioid like heroin.

I have a friend who was on it while pregnant Idk the details of how much she was taking but her little guy had to be in the nicu for about a month, but he is now a very happy, healthy 2 year old!

My brother (18) died from methadone... that is VERY bad .

there are a few mums on here..because i saw this posted recently..but they may have been in the 25-34 year forum..because thats the one im normally on..u cud try posting there :)
