Milk production going down :(

My son is 5wks old, about 2wks ago we had to take him into the doctor, then the hospital. He was throwing up constantly. Every time he ate, it was like a projectile vomit. And then spitting up a lot in between feedings. He has been strictly breast fed since I had him. The doctors ran some tests & think he has really bad acid reflux. So they told me to change my diet. I had to cut out dairy completely,  no eggs & nothing spicy. I'm still taking my prenatal & eating as healthy as possible, but ever since I cut out these items, my milk production has decreased so much. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?  Or know someone who has? And if so, any suggestions? I want to try to breast feed for as long as possible, but feel like this may only last a little longer :(

There doesnt seem to be anything wrong with your supply especially if your feeding baby before you pump. Anything you pump after a feeding is actually an over supply so I would say your supply is great.

That was the first thing they checked for. He was negative for it. That's why they told me to change my diet, they weren't sure what was causing it. They thought he might be lactose intolerant. Its been 2 weeks & we aren't sure that's what it is. So he next step is to put him on acid reflux meds. Hopefully that will help.
The reason I knew my production was going down was because I used to feed him, then still have to pump. And was pumping approx. 6-9oz on both sides every time. And I was pumping every 2hrs max. I filled our entire freezer with milk bags in just under 3wks. Now I'm feeding him & maybe pumping 3 times a day max. And its usually only 4-6oz. I go to my doctor on Thursday & am thinking of asking her if she has any ideas. Although I might be taking little man to the doctor again in the morning :(
Thanks for the input gals :)

Idk about your milk but are u sure your baby doesnt have pyloric stenosis? I had it as a baby and i projectile vomited everything and couldnt keep anything at all down. My nephew had it too. If it has started keeping anything down tho it probably isnt that.

Sorry your dealing with this and sorry your baby is not well! Cutting those things should not cause your milk to decrease though. I'm not sure what you're seeing that makes you think your supply is gping down but I've felt like that before and there was actually nothing wrong so maybe you're really ok? Drinking water is the most important thing. You can make lactation cookies. Oatmeal is good. Pump if you feel your son is not eating often enough to keep your supply up. Get in contact with the la leche league or a lactation consultant from your hospital for support and info! They're great! Don't give up! You can get it figured out!
