Normaly your hcg levels will drop if a miscarriage is going to happen. So women will complain of lower back pain and abnominal cramps similar to a period but more intense. Also passing blood clots or tissue is common. Sometimes it will have a greyish tint in color. It depends on how far along you are wether or not you will actualy see a fetus, Also you can have a missed miscarriage, where you wont bleed or clot at all. (you may loose pregnancy symptoms) The only way you can be certain if your in the process of miscarriaging is to see a doctor. Honestly though if you think you are having a miscarriage it is very important to see your ob asap. If the pain is severe or you are bleeding through more than 1 pad an hour you should  go to the ER. If you passed any tissue at home bring it with you, the doc may want to run a few test. Wishing you the best of luck and I pray it all works out for you :)
