Miscarried one week ago, no bleeding yet, HCG levels at 37,000 ?

I hope that I can get some advice from anyone who may understand what is going on with my body right now! I had an ultrasound last week, one week ago today, and found no heartbeat, did see one the previous week. Although, I was supposed to be 8 weeks along at my first appt. the fetus only measured 6w1d. So the next week we found no heartbeat and no growth. I was diagnosed with a miscarriage and told my options. I would like to miscarry naturally so I have just been waiting it out but NOTHING. No bleeding, cramping, nothing yet. Due to lmp I should be 10 weeks now. If fetus dies at 6w , I am really nervous that it has been in my body for this long. Also, I had hcg levels checked yesterday and the results were 37, 00. I am going tomorrow to see if they are going down, which they should be. If I miscarried at 6 weeks almost two weeks ago would my levels still be that high?
Confused!

I am so sorry for your loss hun. I had a miscarriage that went unnoticed for 12 weeks. The baby fetus was aprox 8 weeks and I was 20 weeks along. (Horrible medical attention where I was living). My body was not going to reject that baby in any way shape or form. I would think about other options to ensure that you avoid infection. I had to have 2 D&Cs within a week of one another due to complications. Stay strong!

It's so hard to go based on one level...you could have that level anywhere from 6 weeks on, and it could be considered normal.  Your levels could still be that high on one day and drop dramatically another day.  Hcg levels are funny like that.  Since you haven't actually lost the product yet, your levels would still be elevated.  Once you start bleeding and losing product, then your levels start dropping.  I would definitely wait until you get the next beta.  If they go up at that point, then I would doubt that you miscarried and think more that the ultrasound tech missed the fetus (which is possible at such an early stage). If, however, the numbers are going down at a quicker rate, I would say that the original diagnosis stands.  Good luck to you.
