False positives are very rare.  The tests work by detecting a hormone that pregnancy creates.  No hormone, no pregnancy.  Hormone = pregnancy.  So, I would say you are/were pregnant.  The only fear is that it is a chemical pregnancy.  In the olden days, women never knew they are pregnant and just thought they had a late period and it was heavier than normal when it arrived. Nowadays, we can take our own pregnancy tests, know we are pregnant and then know if we lost it.  I hope this isn't the case for you.  But REALLY, try not to worry.  You can always call your doctor to do a blood test.  And I agree with above completely, wait a few days and take another home test if you don't call your doctor.  Best of luck sweetie

Wait a few more days and still the same go to the clinic to do their test and they may suggest blood work to confirm. I was always told any line no matter how faint means pregnant.  Spreading baby dust on you.  Good luck
