Mucus plug question for ladies who have "unplugged" before

Hi all,

So from what I have read on here and online I have read you can lose your mucus plug in one big chunk or little by little...that's about as much as I know.

On July first I was almost at 36 weeks with my boy measuring ahead, I was in the hospital being monitored for almost 5hrs with what I just thought was back pain but turned out to be some mild contractions. The babies vitals were good and he was in perfect condition health wise so the OB said she wasn't going to give me any meds to stop contractions and to let things progress naturally. I was released at 10am because I wasn't progressing.

Here are my questions for the ladies who have been there done that with the plug... lol

Today I went to the bathroom, I'm now 37 weeks and some days along and I have had normal minimal white discharge through out my pregnancy, nothing other than that. But today I had some pretty excessive yellowish discharge and i have no signs of any kind of bacterial infections (I'm prone to them and know my body when I get them) so I am wondering if this could have possibly been a little of my mucus plug obviously not all of it since it was not a big glob. I'm asking bc I'm not sure of the colorations or anything like that. I just know you can lose a little at a time and I have never had anything like this before in my pregnancy.

Sorry for the length of the post just need some input! Thanks so much.
