Hi all. I have been sick with a head cold/chest cold for a few days now. I am 19 1/2 weeks pregnant, am sore from coughing, etc. I have been having some strings of mucus-like discharge coming out along with the regular leukorrhea. I am worried that some of the hard coughing I've done has dislodged my mucus plug or something. Can coughing cause preterm labor? Can some small amounts of mucus come out with leukorrhea at times? I even had a small glob in my underwear this evening as well. Could it just be the increased mucus production from my cold? I have had three other kids, all full-term and never had any problems with pre-term labor. But, I also have never coughed this hard during a pregnancy either.
